I was wondering this week if they might intend to use McClellin as more of a defensive end and use Nink at linebacker. You could rotate Sheard, McClellin, and the young guys Flowers and Rufus (or others) and use Nink as the third LB which will lower his snap count and keep him fresher. If there were a major injury at DE, Nink could help. Major injury at LB, McClellin could help. Just a thought.

Coach Borges apparently thinks practice is a waste of time.

Exciting about Dion - even though he'll likely be extremely limited. I've been as optimistic as anyone about his timeline but it's still great to see.

So now Lewis can't start the year on the PUP right? Well just have to hope he is healthy come playoff time.

I thought that the mini camps and OTAs didn't count toward PUP, but only training camp? Maybe I'm wrong. I was sort of hoping that Dola, JE11, and Lewis could come in mid-season to provide a boost.

He also thought Richard Seymour and Matt Light were bad picks.

Yet the guy who has won 4 Superbowls as HC, and been to numerous other Superbowls and AFCCGs think they DO have value.

Hmmmm, who should I side with?

I find Borges and Captain Stone to be the most accurate predictors of Patriot success, if they are negative, which they are 99% of the time, then the Patriots made the right decision.

you're right. if he fails or "fails" the physical at the start of training camp, he can still be placed on PUP for the start of the season. from the NFL Bylaws, section 12.3:
