I'm trying to understand why this post warranted a dislike vote.

Fat thumbs. Clone is a level headed poster and would respond if purposely done.

Yea he/she must of fat fingered. You said nothing close to disagreeable.

Get ready for all the gun control propaganda as with every other mass shooting that they use to try and disarm americans sad part is the whole gun control thing is gonna go thru the whole debate again when there's most important matters going on

In fairness -- when 50 people are shot and 50 more are wounded by gunfire, guns are relevant.

It's tough to kill 50 people in a knife attack.

http://m.palmbeachpost.com/news/news...s-ties-/nrfFf/ says:
  • Omar Mateen had long worked for a mercenary soldier/security company.
  • Omar Mateen, per his father, was angered by gays.
  • Omar Mateen's father had aspirations in Afghan politics.
  • A large majority of available anecdotes show Omar Mateen's father as being anti-Taliban and so on, but there's one exception.

I posted this right after he posted his trash hours ago. I don't understand why its an issue?
no issue with you, just thought it as a post that originally was deleted because it was not worthy, and just should not remain in any further responses

Yes, heaven help us if they take our AR-15 assault rifles away. When I go hunting on my brother's farm, I need to be ready to kill like 50 deer, all in a minute or two. Cause 'merica!

I'm one of those guys who gets along with mostly everyone I meet. Whether black, white, Asian, Native American, what have you, as long as they're here to do the same thing I am doing, live your life, enjoying your friends, love your family and hope to make a better life for someone else along the way. The only people I have anything against are the ones who want to hurt and kill us.

I do not think it's all Muslims killing folks, just as I don't think it's all whites that are mass murderers either, or all blacks are all crackheads selling dope on the street or all Mexicans being members of cartels and lazy thieves. Personally I believe a person should be judged by his actions, not compared and contrasted with other people who happen to be the same race as they are. If you and I look each other eye to eye, face to face, I have the same respect for you as I do any other American, and I feel you should have the same rights and Freedoms as any other American. God bless us all and May He keep the families of those lost in Orlando safe in His hands.

No true religion tells its follower to commit mass murder. It is illogical. The creator of the universe telling one creation to destroy another is illogical. These are man made fallacies.

My heart aches for the victims and their families as well as the local community. My first reaction is anger for the shooter. My delayed second response is sadness and fear for him as I cannot imagine the wrath of God's justice that is about to befall him.

I can't drive my car without a yearly inspection and a valid driver's licence but I can just walk into Walmart and get an assault rifle. Strange times we live in.

You missed the point. .

No, I got the point COMPLETELY.

I grew up in a rural area, with shotguns, rifles, and my dad had a hand gun. I believe in the 2nd amendment.

I also see no reason whatsoever for the ready availability of military assault-style weapons designed with absolutely no purpose in mind other than killing mass numbers of human beings as fast as possible. Do you want a tank, too?

You missed the point. We all should have rights to bears arms open and carry regardless of what state we're in and incidents like this shouldn't have and effect on that even tho every time it happens gun control becomes a topic of choice. If the government could have they there way nobody would be allowed to possess any firearms hell more states then not your not allowed to.
I don't like Mondays either...

There is a thing called background checks and I dont know if mental heath evaluations are mandatory everywhere but if not then that should be included in the process

No you can't just walk in a buy an gun. You most certainly can drive a car without a license or state inspection happens every day. What pray tell is an assault weapon. One that looks scary?

Oh I never said assualt rifles should be legal to open and carry or conceal just only in the comfort of your should you be allowed to have one unless you want to take a trip into the woods for some fun that's just not in a public area

The shooting is too horrible to comprehend.

On another note, at least I can now say with complete certainty that I've seen the dumbest mutha***** who has ever posted on PatsFans, so that's something.

My dad died a couple of weeks ago. He lived outside of Orlando. I had been going down there every couple of weeks since he was diagnosed in December. Nice man, lived a long, good life full of empathy and compassion for all living things. I'm glad he didn't have to experience this senseless tragedy.

He was a veteran and never backed down from a fight he thought was right (yeah, he picketed the Iraq War, tough old bastard). But he could never wrap his head around the mind that could/would do something like this. It never made sense. God bless him.

Life is supposed to be precious but it feels like a video game.

Peace out.

My condolences, but I'm happy that your dad was someone you have so much right to be proud of. May you keep his memory sweet.

Just my opinion, but these incidents will continue until we start asking ourselves very difficult questions. Too many people screaming "Do something", and not enough screaming "Do the right thing".

I think some sort of Gun Control legislation aimed at stopping these sorts of mass casualty events is inevitable. And then we'll end up wondering why we weren't able to put the genie back in the bottle. Or why suicide bombings have suddenly become a thing.

There's not the political appetite among either politicians or the electorate for the kind of gun control laws that would truly "solve" the issue. It's not the least bit practical. The answers to the problems posed by Islamic extremists or the mentally ill are hard to find. And they're impossible to find if we continue to focus on the methods of destruction that are used rather than the underlying causes.

Again... just my opinion.

Crazy cant even really go out to certain places or states/towns anymore with out worrying about some knucklehead shooting up or suicide bombing, its getting real out here.
