Always thought very little of Dobson. Got some **** when I gave'm a 6th Round Grade back in the day.

Can't believe he's still alive, after all these Years, much less on the Roster. o_O

Shows that your scouting isn't very good if he is still there despite the injuries.

Is that what it shows??

Aren't you the bitter old man who wanted us to spend Pick #17 on Jake Locker in 2011??

WhosJake locker? I htink you have me confused with somebody else...

Dane Locker. He linked your thread.

I predict that BB will pick an unexpected position with his first pick.

He will draft a QB if one such as Dane Locker slips, as seems probable.
Consider the following:

1) The rosters are expanding making more room.
2) The rookie wage scale will make keeping a third QB on the squad less costly.
3) Brady is 33 and when he is 37, the new QB will be ready.
4) Belichick plans for both now and the future.
5) Belichick prefers QBs who have weathered adversity, and kept their POISE.
Examples:
Brady has to fight off Golden Boy Henson; Hoyer had to play on undermanned Michigan State against Ohio State and Michigan. Cassel had to sit behind two Heismann Trophy winners, Palmer and Leinart.
All were better for the adversity.

6) Locker has all the athletic credentials, size, height, arm strength and RB speed; but a poor team led to a poor season at Washington State.
7) Hoyer looks like a find; whether he can become a franchise QB is debatable.
8) Belichick never depends on a single player at a position, he frequently obtains a few candidates.

"Who's Jake Locker?"

Jake Locker is the QuarterBack Prospect who you made a Thread about before the 2011 Draft.

This is called a Link. If you click on it, you will magically journey to a place...in CyberSpace.

And when you arrive there, you will one of the stupidest Ideas ever hatched: The notion that the Patriots shouldn't've spent Pick #17 in the Draft not on Nate Solder, as they did, or traded up for Justin "JJ" Watt, as I advocated before the Draft, but should've drafted Jake freaking Locker!!

01
~ I find it hilarious that you're now pretending, despite my having already provided you a Link to your Shame on my previous post, that you have no Idea what I'm talking about!! :D

02 ~ And I am further amused ~ as I was then, and as Brother Tony already pointed out to you ~ that you spewed all sorts of fervent, passionate Arguments in favor of dumping that Pick down the sewer on Jake Locker ~ who's already out'f the League...and couldn't even get the guy's first name right!!

WELL dobson is in the scrum for the #5 WR slot. Depending on the health of Amendola and Edleman he could stick into the regular season, Edelman and or Amendola on PUP till week 9? Absent that he has no shot IMHO. KEyshawn is pretty close to being a lock, he has special teams ability that Dobson and the others competing for the #5 slot don't have. If you want the number 5 receiver slot you'd better have some ST value.

I'll let this story ride out. If Dobson breaks out of training camp as one of the 53 then he has earned a spot. Minicamp news is nice during the slow days of summer. But training camp is where jobs are EARNED.

I think Dobson has to be the #3 WR to stick on the roster. If he's #4, then I think they'd rather keep Martin, the more versatile player who is under contract for two years instead of Dobson's one, or Lucien, who is under contract for four. I assume Mitchell, if healthy, sticks around as the #5 at the very least.

The easiest way for Dobson to get the #3 spot would be for Amendola to end up on PUP to start the season, but it did sound like he was moving reasonably well at that charity game.

Never underestimate the power of a contract year. Players train harder in the offseason, eat healthier, play thru small injuries, and basically give 105% the entire year. Why? Because if the do, and do well, they cash in. If not, well there's always the CFL.

Kidding aside, AD needs to step up this year, and he knows it.

IMO, NE will see a much, much improved player. Pretty much the best he can be. So unless a major injury hits, I'm penciling him into the WR corps, and I hope I'm right, he comes to play, and we can at least get a decent season out of the guy.

i fell for this last year, and the year before, not falling for it again, i already know how this movie plays out.

I have a $25 bet with a co worker...I bet Dobson will make the final roster..he says cut in TC or sometime in preseason..my bet is off to a good start!

Dobson doesn't deserve the ink on this page until he shows something. Anything will do.

I mean, this guy has been given chances on top of chances to make the roster and he's done nothing memorable in three seasons.

OK, who believes that our receivers will NOT be Edelman, Amendola, Hogan and Mitchell?

A 5th with special team talent will likely make the team.

A 5th with developmental talent could make the team, at least for a game or two.

Someone could be on the 53 because Edelman or Amendola isn't ready, although this seems unlikely since we only activate 4 on any given day, and we have 3 tight ends who will be available.

Why would anyone choose Dobson over Martin, Washington and Lucein?

Confession. When I read this first few words of this thread "Aaron Dobson tore.." I immediately thought ACL, MCL, up his knee, ect; before i finished the sentence.

That is probably not a good sign.

Although I'm hoping for the best I won't start to believe in Dobson unless he plays a really physical and aggressive game in camp and pre-season. He doesn't high point the ball and, he doesn't fight for the ball, and if he doesn't show those traits in camp and pre-season then there is no reason to believe he's changed. He's going to have a really uphill battle to make the team given he does not play special teams.

The problem I have with Dobson is I so desperately want him to become a good player that every time he fails to deliver, it's feels like a little knife being driven into you. I'm so very curious to see what he can do if he gets a free injury run but as we're acutely aware, some guys, however unfortunate, are made of glass.
