@DougKyed

Brady 29-37 overall at Day 3 of minicamp, 14-17 11s. Garoppolo 29-41 2 INT overall, 11-15 11s. Brissett 30-43 INT overall, 16-26 INT 11s.

DBs seemed to have gotten the better of it today it seems.

This is becoming a broken record. Good news seeing as though the #1 and #2 WRs are out.

Chris Hogan has a real chance to beat out Amendola for the #2 WR spot i think.

Cyrus Jones stinking up the joint with his muffs.

I am okay with this but i will tell you now. If we are playing the Steelers Amendola or Edelman will be back catching those punts otherwise let them bounce. No more rookies doing that in important games.

Just to add some perspective, (Oh all right, an excuse! ) , it was a very windy day right?

I think he already has. I dont think the plan was the pay him that money to be the #3 WR.

They don't call him "7/11" for nothing. Always open. Although, to play devil's advocate, Amendola did this in 2013 too...but it's still something that he's gotten "it" off the bat.

I don't think Hogan is fighting Amendola for the #2 spot. Amendola will probably start the season on PUP.
Amendola might not even be activated if the other guys prove to be good.

Pontifications as though the Pats had signed AJ Green or someone like that. But Hogan? Washington?

Edelman's not going anywhere, obviously. Amendola took a hit to the wallet in order to stay. Hogan's deal is for 3 years, $12m, with $7.5m guaranteed and a $4m roster bonus in 2016. While it's theoretically possible that he won't make the team, there's no way he's not making the team. That makes it

Edelman
Amendola
Hogan

as locks/near locks. That leaves:

Mitchell
Washington
Carter
Harper
Lucien
Martin
Dobson

competing for what is likely only 2 spots (carrying 3 QBs is going to hamper any idea of carrying 6 'true' WRs + Slater).

Martin clearly showed more than Dobson last season, with 24 catches on 37 targets, in 9 games, compared to 13 catches on 21 targets in 8 games.

Washington's coming off a 47 catch season, albeit with only 50% catch rate.

Mitchell's a 4th round pick rookie, and those are near-locks to make the Patriots roster.

So, yeah. Dobson's not at zero percent to make the roster and, as I noted, he could theoretically get himself back in the team's plans, but the team's clearly moved on.

Can't wait to see Hogan thrive in this offense. He'll dominate out there if health is granted to Gronk, Bennett and Jules. :D
