It's really funny how people love to bash on Dobson endlessly while they remain mute on Chris Harper despite him committing arguably the biggest screwup of the entire season, which again arguably cost us a game with homefield advantage on the line

Harper made one mistake, Dobson has been a three year disappointment. I'm still going to root for him to succeed but the lack of respect for him is of his own making.

I am rooting for Dobson big time this year..i know a lot arn't. But i really want to see him do well on the team. Has a bad year he's gone but a good year or decent? He stays IMO unless Hogan and Washington turn out to be STUDS. But i think Washington may be the odd man out come end of camp

I'm not confident in Dobson because he has repeatedly failed when given multiple chances. He earned that with his poor overall play. It's only coming up here in response to the "Dobson has looked great" posts earlier.

As for Harper, he's dead to me. :)

Harper, on the other hand, has been overlooked or unfairly maligned by some due to one mistake. Kid has serious quickness to be an effective inside guy and will get looks with Edelman and Amendola recuperating from surgeries. Legitimate binky eligible candidate.

Dobson is a professional football player who has received a couple of million dollars in salary so far in his short career - a lifetime of earnings for most of the people on this board. i'm sure he isn't up all night clutching his pearls over what a bunch of keyboard athletes think of him. Almost everyone here would trade situations with him.

June 8th Notes: "WR Aaron Dobson had a second straight strong day and made another nice grab over CB Malcolm Butler" per Mark Daniels

I'm telling you guys. Watch out for Dobson. With his height and speed, he has the most upside of any patriots WR if he can stay healthy

This was Dobson's best play of the year -- and the last play too. Real talent and a terrible injury record:

Until he's cut from the roster you can't say the team is "moving on".

I can, and I did. They've moved on. That's obvious by their signings. He's on the roster, so he could theoretically get himself back into the plans, but it doesn't take a football-to-English translator to read the writing on the wall.

Was Harper drafted in the second round? Was Harper given the keys to the starting lineup as a rookie? Was Harper not cut after "committing arguably the biggest screwup of the entire season"?

While it's too early to see anything definitive. Nink on the inside is pretty cool but concerned how that might adversely impact the pass rush.

Just gotta see....

It may help to answer the question of where McClellin plays, although I don't know if that's a good thing just yet.

Fair enough. I think i made it clear how highly i thought of Jonathan Jones. I was willing to draft him in the 4th. I think i had him on the best player left on my board from the 5th round on. I am so excited we got him as an UDFA and think looking back he will be one of the best players we got this year. People hate on him for his height but i keep saying look at the tape. The kid can play and that is what matters. He does not have the tools to take away someone like Jordy Nelson or Julius Jones but very few guys do. Keep him on guys 6'1 or under and he will be great.

Depending on where he is on the field, like covering a slot receiver, his height would very rarely be the difference between making and not making a play

Yea, we know all about his height.. and we know all about his great speed, his leaping ability, his size, etc... We've known about it since we drafted him and got excited about him every single training camp, only to see him miss the season with another injury.

He has all the physical tools, that's never been the issue.. the issue is his ability to stay on the field and help them win games on Sunday when they matter, during the regular season and playoffs.

I'm rooting for him, but I just can't get excited for him all over again because he's been disappointing as a #2 draft pick thus far.

Everyone is missing this golden opportunity to jump on the bandwagon while seating is readily available. Apparently, he is already a star:

Here's my bold prediction for this year...

Dobson plays well in training camp and preseason, earning a spot on the 53 man roster. He ends season with around 55 catches for 840 yards and 4-5 TDs....

Then some GM pays him $10+ million a year and signs him away from us in free agency after waiting 4 years for him to finally produce..

and we'll all be bummed out about it lol

Me neither. Been reading that they've been starting him off at DE but that doesn't mean he will play there exclusively.

I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with the recent promising OTA/minicamp/training camp/preseason careers of Markell Carter, Matt Stankiewitch, Zach Sudfeld, TJ Moe, and the player I was personally (and solely) convinced would become a starter by now, Kanorris Davis.

I nominate all of the above as part of the inaugural Michael Bishop Annex to the Pats Hall of Fame at Patriot Place. Fan voting for that contingent would be more interesting than the current NEP HoF process.
