I just thought it would be interesting to point out the similar position these teams are in a year from now.

Right now the Pats and Broncos are 2 of the top 3 teams as far as cap space for 2017. They will need to pay a lot of guys too and have about 60-55 Million to do it (cause they need to sign 20 or so more guys to fill up their 53 anyway cause only 30 or so are under contract for that year.

Von Miller - Counts 14M against the cap as is so they probably keep paying him about that.
Ware - Counts 6.5M as of now. I could see it going any direction up or down depending
Sanders - Counts 5M. That is going up to more than double.
Brandon Marshall - Counts 2.5M going up
Sylvester Williams - 1.9M. We will see what they do.

A few other players and their QB spot is interesting for what they will pay.

We could end up sniping each others players which be interesting.

the Broncos are going to fall flat on their face this year

no QB and they're not going to be able to stop the run

Ware is prob going to retire after this year.......he's falling apart

the have no depth on the DL and really only one ILB......size will be an issue with this team and its one of those alternating years with a wade philips defense....

the pats were in shambles and almost took these guys to OT in Denver......

Can't help but look at them. the Broncos like the Ravens and the Giants are always one of those teams in the back of my mind.

It seems every time we have a truly heartbreaking lose one of those teams is involved.

I hope the Pats can do better than sniping Broncos players.

With a geriatric manning and incompetent Osweiler, the Broncos needed a lot of things to go right, and the Patriots needed a lot to go wrong in order for last season to unfold the way it did.

Let's see if our new, old OL coach knows how to teach a silent snap count.

I really hope the Broncos keep overpaying for what they think is a "winning formula."

They'll still have a top notch defense, but they may be a mess this year otherwise. Not sure why Elway hasn't looked into Fitzpatrick just yet. While he's definitely not elite, he is competent and would be the much better option over what they have now at the quarterback position.

Yep. Miller turned down 114 million for 6 39.5 guaranteed.

I don't see how the Patriots sign Hightower or Collins with these numbers being rejected. And I don't blame them one bit. Belichick may have to cobble a LB unit together next year. They can franchise one and let the other walk, you can't pay other players like QBs and they would be better off staying away from these idiotic deals. The teams that do make deals like this won't be competitive imo. The Patriots should start trying to get deals done now with Ninkovich, Vollmer, Solder, Harmon etc.....as they are far more likely to be reasonable. I'm not sure where Hightower is at but I have a feeling Collins wants huge money. I would be happy if they can get Hightower done as well as Ryan.

If they're not going to seek elite quarterback money, it's entirely possible to get something done with both guys. The Pats have a lot of money coming off the books next season.

And the plot thickens...

If they are reasonable I agree but I wouldn't give either more than Keuchly got. Teams like the Jags and Giants made really bad deals this off-season that have thrown the market way out of whack. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Collins wants 90 million, and if he does then adios.

Same is often true for us vs the Ravens.

How much cap space is saved if we cut Brady ? :D

Don't blame Denver one bit. Miller is good, but he shouldn't get anywhere near that. The highest I would go for him is 60-70 million, anything over that is wasted money.

olivia vernon made that impossible, the giants gave him over $50 mil guarenteed.

Miller is right here not to take a deal that doesn't make him the #1 player. the broncos have the cap space, and he basically won the suerbowl by himself

Ninko at mlb could really work well. His strengths should be highlighted with this move. He has always been above average in zone coverage and he is strong enough to mix it up in the middle. His open field tackling is a little shaky but we do have great tackling safeties to cover that up.

This is probably a move that has to happen. He has never really been a true threat on the edge and outside of the jets game last year he was kind of invisible. With the loss of Chandler, his ineffectiveness on the edge would be more noticeable.

Edit: wrong thread but whatever. point still holds lol
