There may have been a moment or two of WTF but they are both mature, professional, see the long view and trust each other enough to ride the storm..

Plus Kraft signs his checks.
If that's the reason Brady was there, then he's far less of a character guy than I've always thought he was. I choose to believe he was there for more genuine reasons.

do you know how bad it would look if brady doesn't show up to kraft's b-day party?

Non story. Of course he shows up. They are partners in a historic run and Brady is now a rich man from it.

Now, could Kraft have handled his fellow owners more firmly when push came to shove? Yeah, absolutely. He threw up all over himself in my opinion but Brady's continued allegiance is no surprise.

Have believed for a while now that #12 will continue to have some sort of business relationship with Mr. Kraft after retirement.. he might even own part of this franchise. One of those wink and a nod agreements when he signed those below market contracts..

FIXED IT for you.

Kraft haters are no different than the deflategate haters from around the rest of the country........a relatively clueless bunch

This issue has been addressed before, this proposal is a massive salary cap violation, engagement in which would justify severe punishment against the Patriots.

Don't give Goodell any ideas, please

I agree, I think Brady has a great relationship with Kraft. We were the ones who were really pissed at him.
Remember, Brady has also only had good things to say about Lloyd Carr, who made him fight for the starting job and eventually "platooned" him with the immortal Drew Henson, which, according to BB, was why he dropped so far down the Draft table (as BB has put it, "it made you wonder"). In that case, TB left the job of bad mouthing Carr to his dad after he left Michigan and we all know there isn't a lot of daylight between how Brady and his father see things. There's nothing in it for Brady to burn his bridges to Michigan...but I suspect that there is no doubt in Lloyd Carr's mind a) that he made a huge misjudgment in how he used TB and b) how Brady really feels about him.

In other words, as long as Brady is playing for the Patriots, we'll never know how he really feels about Bob Kraft and there is little point in guessing. Brady is a savvy guy and, for now, there's nothing in it for him to bite the hand that pays him. Does he really like him or is he playing the old game of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer?" We really can't know...yet.
