10 Labor Scholars file Amicus Brief in support of Brady and the NFLPA

I look forward to Goody's rebuttal, suspensions for everyone. Including a longer one for Brady for his side filing too many briefs (in all seriousness he could do that...).

I agree with you, but most people including plenty of Patriots fans aren't focused on this. I joined this forum the day the Wells report came out. I read the first twenty pages which was the summary and was convinced they were guilty. Normally, I wouldn't bother, but for whatever reason, I kept on reading and read the entire report that day. I was outraged by the out of context texts Wells used and the flawed science by Exponent. I joined this site that day to point out the obvious errors I saw. All those errors have been discussed here endlessly. But if you aren't an avid fan, you don't know how corrupt that report and Goodell's ruling was.

My point is it takes time for everyone else to catch on. Last year about late August or early September, my father who is a Pats fan, but doesn't spend time reading about this stuff, mentioned that they probably did something. I was shocked because i had talked about it to him, but never really went into detail. At that point, I did go into detail and was surprised how misinformed my father was. I convinced him. But it goes to show how little most people know about this. It has taken time for people to catch on. People don't expect the NFL and its commissioner to be so corrupt especially while going after one of their all time greats because it is so irrational and bizarre.

Finally, people, scholars are catching up and seeing how wrong this is. I wish they joined the party much earlier, but better late than never I guess... or hope.
Despite our interest, it must be acknowledged that other people have other interests and pressing life engagements more important than coming out in support of Tom Brady. We shouldn't be too harsh on these folk.

The Patriots acknowledge an internal investigation shortly after the accusations came out, Belichick elaborated on all the efforts the made at his presser.

Silly Belichick, only the Jets can do internal investigations to satisfy the league.

Did we read the same brief?

The Patriots' brief was fantastic.

It focused on the denial of basic due process (lack of access to evidence being brought against the accused and hence lack of opportunity for the accused to respond) in denying access to Weiss's notes of conversations with officials. But it went beyond that and showed that the interpretation placed on those conversations was essential to the case against TFB. So it nailed the idea that "Brady was guilty but trying to skate on a technicality" that seemed to be in Chin's mind (if that's what we can call it) by showing that only denial of due process made the substantive conclusion even remotely plausible.

And then, in a really short space, it slammed all the other myths and lies.

Have another look.
I just read this with a British accent.

I'm waiting for GOONdel and his goon squad to get third parties to file amicus briefs defending the NFL.
They'll let sleeping dogs lie, until and unless the Court asks them to file a response to Olson's brief. But, I'm sure they're trying to line them up. Their problem will be that their support will primarily come from large corporations and management, which will play right into Olson's hands.

I wonder how much money that will cost the NFL, because you know few will come to their defense unless paid.

Like the rich mom who had to bribe kids from Johnny's school to come to his party (which is probably how kids coming to parties had to get gifts started).

But they do have an Ace up their sleeve.

BREAKING: Goodell the senator's son files amicus brief in support of Goodell the arbitrator upholding the decision of Goodell the commissioner, "because Article 46".

It was all over the place, with lots of footnotes to the longstanding pro-Brady website.

It did not say, anywhere I could find, "We did our own internal investigation and we're very sure this didn't happen." If I missed it -- well, then I stand by what I said about how well organized the brief was or wasn't. Now, it IMPLIES that the Patriots believe Brady, which is itself a big deal. But that fits with what I already said.

You aren't making any sense at all.

WellsReportContext.com is the website the Patriots Lawyer set up to debunk the Wells Report. The "in context" part of it includes plenty of factual information presented by the Patriots in regards to the situation. It's pretty clear they support him 100% and believe he did nothing wrong. They also use that site to direct you to numerous pages that have proof that science can explain the different air pressures in the balls, thus exonerating Brady.

How you can say that the brief that they presented was "all over the place"? The entire focus was how unfair the process has been from start to finish. From the league starting with a conclusion (That the Balls were tampered with), to making the facts fit that conclusion, to Goodell's unfair handling of the arbitration process, to them changing what the penalty was for. It was damn near a direct timeline of the NFL transgressions during the entire process.

Maybe you have a different definition of what "all over the place" means than everyone else. To me, that means not following a logical order of some sort. Following the timeline of what transpired seems to be pretty logical to me..

I'm disregarding the parts that say "Please follow links to this website we put up."

My guess, which I gather is different from yours, is that that is not a persuasive part of a brief.

The court has limits on the lengths of briefs.

Where the hell were these people when I was saying this months ago?

In fairness, I don't think very many people seriously anticipated that 2 CA2 judges would be stupid enough to reverse the Berman decision. I sure as heck didn't.
