Off season thread. Who wishes our throw back unis were our main uniforms?

I never liked Parcells. I never liked Bledsoe. And the flying elvis is repulsive and insulting.

Parcells=overrated rude blowhard. Bledsoe=would NEVER start him in a game I had to win.
flying elvis=repulsive and insulting. Plenty of good things happened and there is lots to be proud of in the Patriots' first 32 years; seeing them win the Super Bowl - for the first time - looking like themselves instead of some ugly arena league retread will honor all the former players and New Englanders. Only point of four wins is that they would have won wearing...Anything. Literally, anything at all.
Well, one good thing about setting such a low bar with your first post: nowhere to go but up! ;)

How many times a year do we have to have this &%@# discussion? The Patriots established a winning identity with the blue/silver color scheme which has been tweaked and refined several times since it was introduced 20 years ago. There's no going back to historically incorrect red unis with a stylistically dated cartoon character on the helmet and losing tradition. The team brings it back once a season to keep it marketable in the pro shop. End of story.
FYI, some ignorant non-New Englander stripping everything from a proud past with lots of true winners who did not always get a fair shot against overglorified opponents, and non-bandwagoning loyal fans who always stuck with the team and deserve to see their real team win now is the destruction of a real tradition. Now, today is the best time to restore our real logo and uniforms (FYI Pat is historically correctly dressed in blue; and our just because red was the color of the Brits and the Romans does not make it a lousy color) amidst insane, long-term non-substantive national attacks caused by the league on the organization and its accomplishments means it's time to stand up for the truth. Listen: We've been disrespected since 1960, along with the AFL. This is nothing new. The league imposed the nondescript, vapid flying elvis on us. Look up Darryl Stingley, or Sugar Bear Hamilton, really check it out. That's us, that's how Tom and the guys should look in Houston on February 5th. We can do it.

I'll take ol Pat back any day of the week - and especially on Sundays....!

Wrong.

Pat Patriot looks BENT OVER.

Just because I have the Intelligence to recognize the idiocy of your asinine notion doesn't make me an HATER.

Pat Patriot SUCKS.

***

If Pat Patriot had been an HalfBack, StiffArming someone, or a MidFielder ~ "LineBacker", to you Earthlings ~ SLAMMING someone, then THAT would've been COMMEMORATIVE...

***

But because some LUMP ~ someone who YOU are obviously sympathetic with ~ decided that the best way to represent NEW ENGLAND ~ the Cradle of LIBERTY ~ was as a guy BENT...OVER...then that is a FAIL.

Um, okay, so Pat may be getting ready to snap the ball over his punter's head...at least he looks sharp! My guess is you hate losing. That's good! But we have lots more to be proud of than all those other franchises that won in the sixties and seventies and eighties. Look: it took Kraft, Belichick and Brady to get us here. The league's been against us all along! The league imposed the flying elvis on us. Flying elvis doesn't represent winning, brah, it represents stamping out Mom, Dad, and all loyal Pats fans who always loved football and winning as much as you!

Why did we ever change?

Our throw back uniforms are the best uniforms in the league, past and current.

Can we riot or something to force a change?

Patriot throw back jerseys have super swag.
James Orthwein was apparently a nice man, who did his best for the team for a brief time. However, he was clearly 100% ignorant of the Patriots' history, fan base and importance in the six states. He believed the false Lisa Olson accusations and had an impression of us that any typical person from St. Louis would. So, he commissioned the league to hastily allow his marketing team to replace our real logo and uniforms, to give the team a new image. ("Hey, you look like you need a new image, good sir, how about we castrate you?") Unfathomably, when he approached future owner Robert Kraft to assist in this, Bob evidently uttered something like these four words: "Sure, I'd love to!" instead of what any lifelong fan let alone season ticket holder would: "Over my dead body!!" Now, the Krafts are clearly married to that ugly thing, quite probably (wrongly of course) believing that miserable drawing represents their legacy. So, that's the story of how this disaster occurred and why it hasn't been fixed (hopefully, yet). The only thing the flying elvis represents is stamping out a team's rich, colorful history, one that I say is more entertaining, endearing and respectable and full of character in the face of opposition and adversity, than any in all of football.

Pat and Elvis are both bad logos. The former because it looks like a silly guy bent over (way too thin to be a center or long snapper), the latter because it makes no sense. Both uniforms are good though. Think the current one fits the era better, and the sight of Brady in that uniform is too iconic to change before he goes.

I think the next uniform overhaul should come after Brady and be primarily red, maybe with a new logo.

Yeah, but the Patriots are a classic football team, like the Steelers, the Browns, the Cowboys, etc.
A lot of really talented players wore that uniform, even if we never won the big game with them.
.....picture a dog taking a dump. Then look at the old Patriots logo.

What could be newer than a topped thread from 2013? o_O

I think we have to nail OP with a suspension, this couldn't happen without his knowledge (even tho he doesn't post here anymore I don't think, shame because he was a good poster).

Since this thread is from three years ago, I'm simply going to close it since it was brought back and isn't on topic...after getting seriously derailed.
