*Patriots celebrate 2 year anniversary of signing Malcolm Butler*

fixed it for you ;)

Never gets old!

Starter, super bowl hero, pro-bowler...

...Said everyone during the 2014 training camp.

Us fans can pretend Butler was the team's 2014 first round pick and Easley was the UDFA that was cut after two seasons.

The greatest play in Super Bowl history and one of the great stories in the history of the NFL; from washing dishes at Popeyes to Super Bowl hero.

And the Super Bowl was not a fluke; he is a top-notch CB. Currently he is the most underpaid player in the league; I am not sure how the Patriots can keep him next year (tag him?), but I hope they figure it out.

Cris Collinsworth was such a douch on this play; all he could talk about Carroll supposed coaching mistake instead of talking about Butler and the greatest play in Super Bowl history.

Wouldn't it be funny to re-do the 2014 draft and find that the unheralded UDFA CB from West Alabama would go in the top 10 of the first round, probably in the top 5. Who would you draft ahead of him? I cannot think of anyone. Odell Beckham? Khalil Mack? Certainly there was no CB that was better, maybe Jason Verrett.

I love this guy and hope he stays a Patriot for a long time.

I hope so too, but... more than likely he will move on, or we (as in the Pats/BB) will move on. Unfortunately, there is no longer any loyalty on either side in football. Butler will stay... only as long as he feels like he's getting what he feels he is worth. If not he will go to the next highest bidder.

And I for one, would not blame him as I would do the same.

When isn't Chris Collingsworth a douche?

My second all-time favorite Malcolm Butler play:

I have no gripe with any mercenary such as Revis who extracts as much money as possible from the team and shows no loyalty. Why? Because NFL teams do everything in their power to screw players out of money and show no loyalty to the players. Sure they do this because of the cap, supposedly, but why should a player show any loyalty in return? And football players are grossly underpaid compared to other baseball or basketball players and have shorter, more violent careers. And besides, a lot of the owners, Jerry Jones for instance, are greedy bastards.

I can only speak for myself when I said he should no doubt be on the roster during TC. I also remember saying to a crowd at Ale House that he was going to be special. I obviously had ZERO clue how right I would turn out to be, nor did I predict what he did in the SB. But the success he had in the second half of the SB does not surprise me at all, and it didn't during the game.

Was it the Ale House in Amesbury, MA? Maybe I was there.

I'm sorry, buddy, I should have clarified. No, I live in FL. That was my place to catch all the games between 2010-2014. I stopped going last season. Really, I stopped by the week six in 2014 because people, especially the Steelers fans, were getting ridiculous because of how that season started. I should have gone back later in the season to see if the same idiots were still there. LOL

Malcolm's Super Bowl interception was one of the great SB plays of all time and he'll certainly be beloved in NE because of it, but Malcolm's underdog story also makes me love him. How can you not be happy for a guy who was played ball at a school no one knows, was undrafted and barely on the team and hits the big time. And, he's proving it wasn't just luck.

His signing was a big day for Patriots fans too, even if we didn't know it at the time.
