Patriots have "preliminary" interest in Arian Foster

As I said in the other thread....Cole was the same guy who said that Slater would miss a few weeks, and the NEXT DAY, he practiced. So, a grain of salt is needed here.

And, to add insult to injury:

I saw some reports on twitter he is at the redsox game

I call ********. The Pats met with him....somewhere. Arian Foster doesn't just come to MA in July to attend a Sox game vs Cleveland.

I think because of his stature in the league and respect BB has for vets, they wanted to spare him the indignity of, "Foster left NE without a contract." and are spinning it as a pleasure visit.

Take it for what it is worth. I don't know if this is true. Just throwing this out there.

Hes def at the game

FWIW. Gronk and Amendola were both at the game too... Coincidence?

Probably not. So the Stoolie guys are saying he's saying he's signing? Is this verifiable.

That doesn't work if you just use it on just one thread. You need to use it on the entire forum. Every little post, thread, help thread, anything. Every little crevice, otherwise we'll have more nuked threads.

Trust me on this.

I believe you you.

Think of him as Lewis insurance because Lewis always gets IR'd every season. See Lewis as insurance for him because Foster has gotten IR'd quite a bit lately.

So maybe between the the 2 of them you get some good production. If both stay healthy, watch out. Lewis AND Foster in the backfield. Plus DJ Foster? Yuppers.

Good post. I'm sold.

Color me skeptical. This sounds like one of these "caption this" Tweets where you fill it in. If I'm wrong I'll gladly and happily admit it here but how could he hear what he's saying unless Arian was screaming at the top of his lungs?

Glad to know they're at least interested in Foster. They should be, he's a perfect fit.

Arian Foster, if healthy, is a damn awesome football player. There should be zero skepticism towards signing a guy who has dominated in a Bill O'Brien offense and been one of the best backs in football for years. Again this is assuming health, but all of those who were pining for Matt Forte---if Foster is healthy he is simply a better back than Forte, and one of the best ones in the league. Achilles can be pretty tough though.

I know this isn't directed at me but I used the word "skeptical" so perhaps indirectly? Anyhoo, don't get me wrong. If the Pats add Foster I'd be more than OK. It is never a bad thing when you can bring in a proven vet with as much production (when healthy) as Foster has brought to the league. My skepticism strictly falls within the many wonders of social media. When one national media guy and one local guy (at least one a reputable known source for the Pats) both pretty much shut it down, I think there's some truth in that. Not that it isn't fun to catch Foster in Fenway Park or in Logan buying a Cinnabon. All in all, I think some patience is in order here before folks get hyped only to be let go fast and hard.

I'm sure they met with him, but his agent also said earlier this week (prior to these reports) that he was still a few weeks from being able to pass a physical. He left without a contract because they wouldn't be able to give him a contract, and they knew that. But they also probably have a good indication of whether he's interested and how much he would cost.

if both Lewis and Foster are clear to start the season - this combination makes sense (injury wise)
the chances for this at the moment dont look so great

there is a good argument/question in another news story
can the team afford to start the season with two starting RBs on PUP?
with Edelman and Amendola possibly joining them?

one is the wish list other is reality of time(line)

PS
I wish (yeah, here goes my wish list) group interventions against a single poster or calls for banning one would not be a habit here. I understood this forum has moderators to intervene when necessary.

I'm not much of a twatter (not sure on the past tense of tweet) but looks like some random dude tweeting to the stoolies. Not that the guy can't be telling the truth just don't think it's Barstool or that they are running with it yet.

fwiw the achilles situation is not yet 100% and Foster is not ready to pass a physical..
