Rumor Central: Dwight Freeney to the Patriots?

I don't know why but there are certain patriots fans on this forum who are petrified of the patriots acquiring electrifying playmakers, it's almost as if they feel we should only sign players who are a jack of all trades, and a master of none.

Freeney is an elite pass rusher, we need pass rush. Bring him in for a workout

The guy is 36 years old with barely anything left in the tank. Sure, he had a good year last year under the right circumstances. A bit of a stretch to call him an elite pass rusher and an even bigger stretch to say any football fan is petrified of their team acquiring "electrifying playmakers."

Freeney hasn't been an elite pass rusher since at least as far back as 2012.

Yeah, and when asked about playing for the Patriots, Freeney said:

“Well, that’s hard to fathom. But I’m not against Bill [Belichick].

Boy, he really sounds overjoyed at the prospect!!!

WTH does being a homer have to do with it? They shouldn't have drafted the guy in the first place.

Why? Chandler was a really solid player when he was here. Sure, he got worn out down the stretch/sometimes disappeared in the postseason but that's partially on BB for not having a better rotation to keep key bodies fresh. Yeah, he was a dope for smoking K2 the week of a playoff game but by all other standards, he was a great teammate and a solid NE resident. I'm not seeing the regret in drafting him?

Guys guys ...have we forgotten of the great Roofus Johnson?

Nothing against Jones. I just wanted to see Gronkowski123 try to flip his script on that troll post of his. Understanding that Jones was #4, at best, on the defensive re-sign list (Collins, Hightower, Butler), and understanding that you needed to move him this year in order to get something for him, has nothing to do with homerism, and Gronkowski123 knows that.

Had his comments been about Easley, and the way the homers dealt with his drafting/releasing, he'd have had a point.

If the NFL decides to expand the roster to 60 in the next couple months, bring him in for a look. Otherwise, let him sit in his rocking chair on his front porch so he can keep an eye on his lawn.

A/K/A I was trying to troll someone who's obviously trying to troll the board, but someone else responded.

In retrospect, it was poorly written on my part.

Gotcha. For a second I thought you were contradicting yourself. Just run of the mill hypocrisy. My bad.

Nothing I posted in this thread has been either contradictory or hypocritical. Lovely chatting with you, though.

F*ck freeney ...... He hates the pats....except now that it's possible they're the only ones who may write a check

Wherever Derrick burgess is is where freeney belongs

He, himself, mentioned this earlier this week. This is the type of player BB probably brings in because he's always admired the player, and maybe he sticks. I don't see it, but who knows? He didn't look bad last season in situational work.

If so, it's rather fitting that his only option for squeezing out a few more snaps would be pure torture.
