OT: Without any Pats news/info, "I'm so bored that..."

I'm reviewing old Patriots football cards, kids. Here's one:



Fun fact: this card is made of reinforced cardboard, which makes it just as tough as this particular player depicted.

I'm going thru the new cover solos in Madden 16 so I can have a 85 overall Gronk card at launch for Madden 17. Apparently the last game in the solos features all Gronk on offence and defence...

I am home sick and have nothing better to do than review tape of the Patriots draft picks and UDFAs and apply my expert (ha) analysis. Hmmmmm who is next....

When I was a kid, right about now I'd be getting Strat O Matic Football for last year. That would kill some time. LOL... I think Mrs. Rover might look at me funny if the UPS man brought that now.

I was huge into strat-o-matic baseball. Killed days and weeks playing that.

SOM Baseball was the first sports game I ever bought... 1971 season. Played the crap out of that. Lemme tell you... it's a real chick magnet. Of course... I was 11. LOL

My Strat years were 82-88. We had 100 game seasons. Played 4-5 games a day. Played it right through Senior year in HS. Still had had time for girls and booze.....and homework

We used to play (som baseball) too but my brothers were way more into it than me oddly I would consider them cooler than me this might have been the exception.

I am at an all time low right now ...

Waiting for the results of the NBA lottery ...

I never got into Dungeons and Dragons or video games growing up. If it wasn't sports-related I had no interest.

SOM was very much a dork game but I loved it. We'd keep our own stats, chart the games and share them with each other. We'd do homestands, set pitching rotations, juggle lineups, had farm systems, drafts....everything. Total nerd-ery with SOM.

...and at 15 we started sneaking beers in and drinking during the games.

All before gaming, iPhones, the internet...A totally different time.
