BB is good with Gronk. He works hard and is extremely devoted to football. He lives within a mile to the stadium and often runs to practice.

I'm sure his social life is not BBs favorite but I'm also sure as long as it doesn't interfere with football he's excepted it and worries about more important things. I have heard BB discuss this very topic at one of dinners with the head coach I've attended. Obviously being a public dinner he could have just given a canned response. But basically his response to the crowd was to first make fun of him a little but then went onto to talk about how dedicated he is when he is in the building and the perfect teammate and all that and that he is a good kid and what he does outside as long as he is safe and legal is not really any of his business.

I think BB would prefer Gronk kept a slightly lower profile and was a bit calmer with some of the partying, but after all this is a business and right or wrong outside of this little nook of the country the Pats have a not-so-great image.

"Gronk being Gronk" is actually a good thing for a Patriots brand and BB is right for refraining from publicly frowning upon his lifestyle.

I find it interesting that Gronk always likes to portray himself as a happy go lucky partier, but he always stops short of crossing the line.

I have always believed him to be far more smarter and shrewd than he lets on, and in fact that this is simply an image he likes to project, and markets as a brand.

But it's a bit sad to consider that Gronk has shrewdly decided to maximize his popularity by appearing dumb.

I also agree. Gronk is certainly not a Mensa Society member but I think he's very situationally aware, knows the line and has good people advising him that care about him personally.

Clearly his party-hard persona and play on the field are translating into major endorsement $$.

He knows exactly what he is doing.

Agree. When it starts to affect his play on the field and standing with his teammates and coaches, then it becomes BB's problem.

Right now it's a Mr. Hand/Jeff Spicoli dynamic only Gronk isn't doing dope and getting A+ in football.

From what I know, he's living off his endorsements, and hasn't touched a penny of his salary. All of that is reserved for his post-playing days. Talk about being smart.

For all the crap he gets for being meddlesome in Gronk's affairs, I think he's getting good advice from Gordie Gronk who is an excellent businessman in his own right. I'm sure Gronk also has good financial planners, accountants and tax attorneys that help him manage all that cash as well.

My dads a CPA and hes saved my ass from a number of uninformed financial decisions with my business. Thats what parents do. They bail their kids out of trouble and prevent them from doing dumb things. It never stops.

It makes you wonder what would have happened to the Prisoner if his father hadn't died suddenly. I don't know if he would have ever been a Patriot, but I certainly think it far less likely he'd be in prison right now.

It also overshadows the fact that he is quite generous with his time (and in some cases, his money, too). Mike Reiss did a piece on it last season.

Clearly what Gronk does outside of football absolutely has zero effect on his ability to play because he has the best time ever off the field and then goes and plays like the greatest tight end ever on it. This is the opposite of a say Manziel situation, he's not an ego-maniacal loser he's just a larger than life awesome guy that likes to have fun and destroy defenses in one of the most physically demanding sports there is.

In fact i say what he does off the field actually benefits him on it, if he's not happy and having fun away from the game then he's no longer GRONK, he simply becomes generic Robert Paxton Gronkowski, tight end from Arizona State University.

gronk deserves to be the highest paid TE in history!!!
