Meta: Does anyone have any feelings about Robert Kraft they want to share?

I would rather have an Al Davis type owner who bleeds his team colors and rails against the league rather than an influential owner who cares more about the league than the team.

It really is a shame because he has done so much for the team, and then he submarines the fans the way he has.

Be careful what you wish for, the Raiders have been in disarray for years now.. and after moving from Oakland to LA back to Oakland now he wants to move to Las Vegas.. sure the fan base would love that those with schizophrenic tendencies would go full blown.

Just like the wonderful Rams Franchise from LA to St. Louis back to LA.. sure the St. Louis Fans are jumping for joy..

The grass is not always greener..

Yeah, I've been against Kraft on this but it's really hard to take people seriously in here. When it comes right down to it, the same people spewing hate are going to keep renewing their season tickets, keep going to games, keep buying merchandise, and ultimately keep putting money in the Krafts pockets. So what's the point? I understand that it's cathartic and it's easy for me to not do any of that because I don't live up there. But if you're going to spew that much hate, it's really just pointless noise unless you're going to do something to back it up.

I remember tailgating as a STH back in 93, 94 over in Lot A between the old race track and Rte 1. Krafty Bob would drive through on his golf cart driven by some lackey. He loved it. He absorbed all the cheers and adulation from the fans. I even gave him a high 5 once as he drove by. Additionally he made damn sure his parking lot travels made it on tv, so the fans would see just how "in touch" he is with Patriots fans.

Hilarious how fans think the solution is to replace one out of touch billionaire with another.

"NO, no! He is the Billionaire of the People!"

Just bare naivete.

Tell me 2-3 recent (last decade) things that Kraft did which make him "the best owner in the NFL" ? I am not trying to troll or ***** around but am sincerely interested what puts him up there for you.

On my end he has run out of credit for not moving the team almost two decades ago and hiring BB a decade ago. All I see is ever-increasing - now "flexible" - prices, disappearing sitting areas so he has more VIP space and working against the sport and its players to maximize profit for all owners. There is a pattern and its green. And all of that is his good right and he can do it for all I care but at least he should own it and stop being so hypocritical.

What do you see ?

simple ......collectively, the decisions he has made since 1994.......calling him the best owner in the NFL is not setting the bar very high, but if it wasn't for him, we would not have a football team here.....to me, it pretty much ends there

I mean......look at this

Patriots price Seahawks tickets as this year’s “elite” home game

he's not about the fans, he's not about the other 31.......he's in it for himself and his.....which is why this team had the lowest market value when he bought the team and has the 2nd highest now.....

he's a rich old guy who's probably going soft.......

Because being a nuanced human being that can be Al Davis-esque when it comes to protecting his own brand, supporters and team but at the same time reasonable enough to defer team building decisions to better suited people is impossible ?

Al Davis moved the team to LA and then back.......he cares about his supporters about as much as Bob Kraft does

Ego and boredom drive these guys

Again, I am not saying that Kraft should copy Davis but rather point out that you can be an owner and still actively fight the league on certain decisions especially if you declare publicly again and again how the player that got railroaded is like family to you.

I agree that it's mostly ego that drives some of those people. My main issue with all of this crap is that Kraft doesn't own up to it but thinks that putting up a blog is an "unprecedented move" that somehow will affect how people down the line will see the entire fiasco.

But thanks for your answer.. I think I am done with this topic.. at least I hope I am..

That's a straw man ...

I think he's going soft......he seems to think that business practices that have garnered him success in other ways in the past will pan out the same way when dealing with a bunch of goombahs out to get you

I think he's completely daft when it comes to a fight

I hate Roger Goodell, but thats what the NFL wants. He is only a face and I am honestly starting to believe he is a human synth, will all those billionares they should be able to pay to create one. I mean hes not even that good at impersonating a human so to me it seems possible.

Anyway, I had a lot of anger towards Kraft for a while until I realized what was he realistically going to do? Fight the NFL like Al Davis? That hasn't worked out and now his son is the laughing stock of owners with a laughing stock franchise that is now being relocated. Sure maybe for a year we would all support Kraft for sticking up to Goodell, but the league would insure we never won another superbowl. The NFL will go down the same way FIFA did just give it time. Basically what I am trying to say is Kraft is trying to ensure we will stay relevant post Tom Brady/Bill.

LOL they wont.

The ones spewing the hate today will be the first ones to buy Pats SB51 Championship gear in February.

RK played this whole deflategate nonsense terribly, but the hate and venom he's getting for it is unjustified.

It's just football..

I love the Patriots. As a general rule, I ignore Bob Kraft. He brought Bill back to NE and has stayed out of his way. That's his contribution.

My contempt and anger are directed at the NFL* (the group of 31 and the POS and his minions at 345 Park Ave) and the Sport Media machine.

CameraPlacementGate was ridiculous and mean-spirited. It tarnished the Patriots accomplishments. It was a personal attack on the greatest coach the game has ever seen. In this modern age of sports media, it was game over. I'm still pissed at that.

But the WitchHunt is unspeakable. It is a direct attack on Tom Brady, the greatest QB ever, and one of the nicest celebrities we'll ever see. Outside of NE, Tom is booed pretty much wherever he goes. That is unforgivable. To rob the GOAT of four precious games is an injustice. I hope they all rot in Hell for all of it.

Meanwhile, we will pursue #5, even with one hand tied behind our back and blind in one eye. And the 31 are still afraid of us. Hell, Las Vegas still has us favored. That's how good we are. That's how jealous the 31 are!

F**** 'em all!

I took my name off the season ticket waitlist, haven't purchased any tickets to Gillette Stadium, no Patriots merchandise, got rid of NFL Network and missed more games last year (around 6-7) than I had the previous 20, combined. I support Brady and BB. When Brady is done, I will be finished with the NFL. After last offseason and everything since, it's just not important to me anymore.

22 years of bob kraft is the same 22 years the salary cap has been in place.

the reason for putting the salary cap in place was to promote parity.

since then, the Pats have had:
2 losing seasons
5 missed playoff appearances (2 by tie breaker)
15 times won AFC East
11 times appeared in AFC Championship
7 times appeared in super bowl

in the time of parity, that's quite a few seats at the table........how can a major portion of the other 31 not be pissed off?

the Pats are on a long term run that didn't happen when there was no salary cap

I think the venom he's gotten for both scandals is justified. However, I also think most of it is going to be hot air. For the most part, people aren't going to act on their feelings.

More people who are angry at Kraft need to do that. Longtime season ticket holders bailing out in droves would get notice.

I was actually serious about you guys doing something as a community. A few hundred angry calls/ticket cancellations/complaint emails would at least be something. Bob definitely seems sensitive to how he's viewed by fans.

I'm not angry at Kraft at all but you guys who are should try to organize something. Start it here, spread it to twitter, let Kraft know how you feel in an organized fashion as opposed to just random angry comments on the internet. It wouldn't change anything but someone, somewhere would notice.

Hi yall,

You haven't been screwed over for even 2 years - how bout 20? My problem is my buddy Bob is too humble - he should take credit. 500 coaches could do what Belichick did. You would win more if I was running things. And you would hear a lot more from me regardless. Besides, Belichick has Tom Brady. I knew he was a gifted QB - he married Gisselle. She’s very, very attractive, and it shows what an outstanding individual Tom is.

I'm not jealous of you. Fans are more addicted to the Cowboys than I am to my whiskey - they will come to my stadium no matter what crap I offer. Besides, I'm running the Greatest Reality Show on Earth, and it's a lot more exciting.

I'm expecting some are going to give me hell for that last post.

If you think I was defending Kraft's handling of DeflateGate - no. Did I say no?

What I am saying is we could have a much worse owner.

Still, some of you are so upset that won't register.

I'm wondering 2-3 years from now, if DeflateGate is just a very bad aberration, or Kraft has other SNAFUs.

What would anger me is botching up the future after TB and BB.
