Perfect actor to portray Goodell

Sean Penn reminds me lot of Goodell. A usefull idiot.

@Deus Irae
@Schmo

Are you hoping for an epic performance that will go viral, like Bruno Ganz did of 8off?

That would be cool, if someone acting Goodell went that viral.

You're now babbling nonsense and, if you don't know that political correctness is all about intimidation, you're clueless about the very thing you're trying to impose upon others. Congratulations.

Not intimidation, control

Why I thought about this upon clicking this topic this morning I will never know but if I were to make a movie involving Rog I'd want him portrayed the way Chevy Chase portrayed Gerald Ford. Not a real attempt at an authentic impersonation, just as kind of a clueless dumbass. And for some reason I think Ryan Gosling could do a really good job giving Rog the perfect sense of unearned self-righteous vacuousness with a complete lack of integrity, and a couple pratfalls sprinkled in.

The resemblance is striking....

In order to have sound logic, you have to start with correct assumptions. To say that I'm "intimidating" anyone with the reasoning I've given you is pretty far fetched. I'm simply calling people out on saying things that would get them punched in the mouth by people (if those people were able to defend themselves).

I can't help it if you think mirrors are ugly.

Lol

I'm pretty sure those of you who push political correctness are the least likely to punch anybody in the mouth.

More like go home and blog about feeling triggered. That's what happens when you grow up without a backbone.

What's worse, not tolerating hate, or not tolerating empathetic people?

There's a straw man if I ever saw one. Not jumping into the "ban the r-word!" hysteria does not = hate.

The word 'moron' has the same origin and means essentially the same thing, yet many of the same people who want to ban '******' use it regularly. The whole thing is just a ******ed, moronic attempt by some people to pick and choose a pet cause that they can wield like a weapon to feel superior to others.

And yes, I do find it fitting that this whole debate is happening in a thread about Roger Goodell.

Noah Emmerich of The Americans fame. Always plays an unlikeable sleeze ball.

Bill Burr

I hate political correctness overall. People who are overly PC are almost as bad as lawyers! Some say that lawyer's can't help themselves... they're just born that way. I don't think so. Even terrorists need to be trained. Anyway, there's PC, and then there's just being a douche bag.

One sure sign of being a complete and total D-bag is someone choosing to use a physical and/or mental diagnosis as an insult, especially when the people with the condition typically cannot even defend themselves. Way to go. You're a true Amerkin hero! Not! You're pretty much a grade A turd Burglar. Good for you!

As to the original topic, the Judge from Pink Floyd's The Wall would be a PERFECT match for Der Kommisar!

I'll have to say that you are completely wrong. It's an inconvenience to some, not the downfall of our country.... in a lot of cases, a simple display of tact and empathy. You can go ahead and take the "if you disapprove of what I say, I disapprove of what you say" stance while sticking your tongue out at me, but fact is, using certain terms promotes hate.
And are hateful and hurtful. Why would you do that if you can easily avoid it by cleaning up your vocabulary. Maybe I should ask Dan Snyder.

There was a time in our history when black people were considered less than human, and the N word was the label used to convey that. There was a time when gay people were considered less than human, and the F word was the label used to convey that. I would like to think that we have come to a point in society that we consider developmentally disabled people human and show them the respect they deserve.... seeing as how they are largely unable to enact social change on their own. To say these terms are acceptable now is to publicly convey that the time in which they were used was a time when these groups were treated fairly. That's why I use the word hate, and that's why I simply pointed it out to the OP - because I had faith that he doesn't openly think less of that group of people. It's a simple way of showing respect for/not forgetting history and the hardships people have had to endure.

Lol

I would love to follow you around as you call black people n****rs to their face, or gay people f****ts. And I guarantee, if you were to call a handicapped person a r****d around me, you would change your thoughts on that statement. Some people want to call it over-sensitivity, then I am absolutely over-sensitive about this particular issue.....

Truth is, I have personally been diagnosed as autism spectrum. I don't like sharing this information, because people still DO treat me differently. I often have the hard choice of trying to fit in, and having people treat me like a fool (as Deus Irae has so eloquently done), or I can admit to it and have people pat me on the head. Like the handicapped people I'm defending, I just desperately want to be on the same playing field - hence my handle.

I have trouble grouping together and simplifying my thoughts, especially when it comes to my views on altruism and social justice.... but it doesn't mean my thoughts aren't well thought out or objective. Most of the time, when I try to convey my ideas to people, I get close minded, prepared responses used from other arguments they've had... like I did from Deus Irae. People who want to group me in with the "PC crowd" or insist that I "subscribe" to a certain way of thinking. My whole goal is to be objective and my initial response was just that, an honest response. I found myself taken aback by the willingness to link that group of people to a compete piece of **** like Goodell.

I understand that the OP wasn't referring to an actual disabled person by that term, but he used it with the connotation that it's an insult - that Goodell is a bad person because he is mentally handicapped, NOT because he's an unreasonable, vindictive, overpaid *******. That's the kind of thinking that I personally feel is my duty to limit. It's just not ok.

Edit: just wanted to point out that calling Goodell an ***hole was auto-edited out.

Wha da fu..?!
Roger may be a corrupt and incompetent tool

but he does have a kind of rugged, lone ranger allure to him

got a little John Wayne in him.....he showed Kraft and everyone else that he was the Sheriff......that takes true grit

What a ******ed thread.
