A lot of question marks again this year. Im looking at most of these guys and thinking ....wow....hope they make it.... In BB we trust....and I know that NONE of the big name...best remaining on the board guys....are NEVER on Belichick's radar....so who knows!!! Anyways ....what is your grade and WHAT AREAS did BB whiff on?'

I'm going to give the draft a solid C....and I think we failed to address RB.....Thanks

Solid C for me too. I like it but don't love it. I'd bump it up to a C+ with the UDFA additions, two of whom I do like.

Solid B.

In any draft you can only hope to hit on 3 starters. Cyrus jones, thuney and mitchell all have the potential to be difference makers next year. Every pick isn't going to be a pro bowler or even make the team.

B

Mitchell = bye bye Dobson
Thuney = bye bye Cannon
Cyrus Jones will be a solid contributor on punts and dime coverage to start.

Also Chandler Jones = Cooper + Thuney + Mitchell.

Frustrating. C

A short CB. Jones
A short WR. Mitchell
An unnecessary and bad looking QB. Bissett.
Valentine and Thuney look like solid depth pieces

Stopped watching and paying attention when they passed on Dixon five times

I used to study the prospects and would have an opinion on whether the Pats took the right guys and if they drafted the right positions. Over time I learned that I'm awful àt it and Belichick is damned good at it even though he leaves me scratching my head sometimes. Now I just take an interest in the players we drafted and enjoy watching it play out.

A solid B

I suppose those who judged lower would have judged higher with a couple of late RB's instead of an UDFA.

C- At best,
I like the picks but I hate how we didn't draft any RB, if they did draft someone decent, it would be a C+.

I think they missed chances to really do more. I think there were players they left on the board that they should not have Perhaps they were not perfect fits but they were very talented.

Letting Bullard slide i think was a mistake. I think letting Clark slide was a mistake. They were 2 of the best prospects in this draft IMO. They wanted Sterling but it looks like that was never in the cards without a first round pick :(

I think they could have done better.

That aside I do like Thuney and I do like Jones.

Mitchell is an interesting pick up in the 4th and Valentine has an interesting combination of stuff of skills. Very quick for his size.

Of the late round prospects a lot are interesting but Lucien especially interest me. I think he has the best chance to be something.

Taking 2 6s and a 7 and turning them into a 4 next year is a great move too. I really liked that as i just don't value those picks much.

Overall B-

Cyrus Jones - B
Thuney - B
Brisset - C
Valentine - C+
Mitchell - B
Traded picks - A+
All later picks - B-

So an okay draft but could have been better. However this is a draft where it would be really hard to get an A.

Nobody flashy, but we have to remember both how low they are picking in the draft and how solid the existing team already is. That means it's very hard to find players who will make immediate impacts.

The key for me is they picked several players who are multidimensional - in particular a corner who is also a damn good punt/kick returner, and an OL player that can play anywhere (meaning they can often go into a game with one less player active). The picks after 200 and UDFAs are always going to be crapshoots or developmental players anyhow, and they picked up some really interesting prospects.

The two controversial players are the QB and DT. They needed to draft a QB now, and I can't say this Tebow-type pick looks to me like a great fit, but I assume they know what they are doing. The DT Valentine has fantastic pure athletic ability - he is taller, heavier and faster than Wilfork, with the best broad jump of any guy his size in ages. So he could mature into something special by the time we really need him (post Branch and Pot Roast).

I'd give it a solid B, maybe even a B+.

I can't go lower than a B given that the NFL stole a premium player from us. Add, say, Ragland, and it would look a lot better.

Two WR that we really need to get some youth developing.
Two OL, that need goes without saying.
I like Jones, the other defensive guys are interesting for late round guys.
And we got a 4th next year.

Z = I have no clue.
Ok...no one knows how ANY of these guys turn out....but what is your INTIAL feeling on how BB and Co did withe the draft?!?

Very good post here....thanks agree on most everything! Thanks
