Kevin Faulk Announces Patriots Draft Pick While Supporting Tom Brady

Goodell just walked out on the stage to a smattering of boos made a come on gesture with both hands and said something to the effect of come on let's hear it. He really does think he's Vince McMann.

He needs to be body-slammed like Vince McMahon.

Word. I knew that the tide was turning when Ian posted the Nielsen ratings for Day 1 of the draft, and Boston's had dropped significantly. That shows that the fan base has had enough, and it isn't just us fans, but folks on the street.

I live up to Bath, Maine, and stopped into my favorite watering hole for a couple beers prior to the Day 2 stuff. WOMEN in the bar were talking about the BS punishment that the league was handing out,and comparing Goodell's persecution on TFB to what he doled out for Ray Rice, and calling the NFL out on it.

Now, the NFL can (and does) do what it likes and keep pushing this moronic anti-Pats agenda, but they do so at the risk of alienating a big chunk of their fan base, and when that happens, fans stop or reduce their purchases. Kraft had better figure out right quick which side of this issue he's gonna be on, because the era of fence sitting is quickly coming to a close.
Women???? Good heavens, they took time from discussing shoes and periods to talk about men's business like football?? Not sure I like this one bit.

Yup. And if he'd been German, he'd be a Deutsche Bag.......

If he was German he'd be eine beschissener arsch licker..

Eine verferfiekta swein.

A piece of ****.

After winning SB51, do you know what I wish for the most?

A historic draft, producing a couple of HoFer, like the Steelers in 1975.

The should give some frustrated haters CTE.

Reiss had a great breakdown on this cloak and dagger situation which makes it even cooler :

Of Patriots picks, DT Vincent Valentine draws widest range of opinion among insiders

7. One of my first phone calls Saturday morning was to running back Kevin Faulk, who stole the show among Patriots fans on Day 2 of the NFL draft by wearing a Tom Brady jersey under his sport coat as he announced the team's third-round pick in Chicago by saying, "The New England Patriots AND Tom Brady select …" Faulk was at the Atlanta airport when we touched base, awaiting a connecting flight to return home, and here are some highlights from our discussion:

  • He first got the idea from someone on Twitter while in his hotel room that day. He had also heard the possibility of him doing something first mentioned on sports radio (credit to Dale Arnold of WEEI).
  • About a half-hour later, Faulk said he received a phone call from a friend who had a connection in Chicago, offering up a Brady jersey. The jersey was delivered to him soon after.
  • Faulk then relayed to team officials that he planned to do it as long as he wasn't stopped before he arrived on stage. He kept the jersey in a bag, quickly slipped it on, and then waited in the "green room" where Goodell wasn't far away.
  • Faulk slipped on the jersey moments before he was supposed to go on stage. The woman escorting him looked at him and Faulk asked her if she thought it was OK. Her response: "Do it." Turns out she was a Patriots fan.
  • Faulk said he wasn't nervous about announcing the pick, with NFL executive Troy Vincent standing nearby, as much as making sure he made it on stage with the jersey.
  • His cell phone blew up after, which included a message of thanks from Brady himself.

Faulk basically ensured his rightful enshrinement in the Pat's Hall of Fame with that move. he was a clutch third down back in his playing career, and defended the wall right in the faces of the very people that are trying to tarnish it!

They might as well stop the HOF voting process now and just hand Faulk his red jacket

@Ian

Think you may have your next billboard photo.

Im not religious. Weddings and funerals only time youll find me in a place of worship. Also not superstitious. But 2 things happened in Boston sports yesterday that give me pause. One was the serendipitous Kevin Faulk TB12 jersey thing ESPECIALLY the part where, after all his careful planning and 007 moves, the whole thing couldve been undone by the lady who escorted him onstage, but she was a PATS FAN!What are the odds?!? The 2nd was Big Papi promising a very sick 5 year old boy/sox fan that hed hit a home run for him last night-and then he did. The interview with Ortiz about this is just as cool as Reiss' story on Kevin Faulk-highly suggest y'all check it out if you havent. But for both of these events to play out like they did on the same day is unreal. Im not saying God or whatever force rules the universe is a Boston sports fan(though i could make a strong case why he WOULD be). What i think happened is He looked down and saw all the NFL's shenanigans and Goodells smirking response to all the boos was the last straw--so he decided to use a and little divine intervention and SNAP! the usher for Faulk is a Pats fan. And for good measure lets bring a little joy to a very sick 5-year old.

Thanks, Kevin!
A lesson in guts for Bob Kraft.
