15 days and counting who will be cut???

So basically it's one before the other...the latter conditional on the first....McGinest always came in om PUP and did not practice for a few days...others have injuries and are not 100%...Once they are cleared to practice..PUP is not an option.

It's even odd...as ALL players are there at the start of a session..streching etc etc..and after 20-25 minutes..the PUPers walk to the indoor practice facility while the others do the drills...then as practive is winding down, an hour or so..they return amd are with the positional coacjes as they wrap things up. I DO think there are a few players that MAY start on PUP this year

Chad Jackson, Eddie Jackson, Dave Thomas...even Troy Brown COULD start on PUP.

See, that's the only thing about the Active/PUP.

Are players who don't practice but aren't placed on Active/PUP still eligible for the PUP? That was the big debate last year. If so, then it does indeed eliminate the need for an Active/PUP. I think it may be more of a procedural thing, but it may also have to do with the distinction between being injured/failing the conditioning test/not practicing.

Your NFL Europa exemption will not help you. No one from the third world makes this team.:singing:

This from a person whose country can't even steal someone else's language or sports competently.

I'm just frustrated this week with that game invented in Scotland. It's not enough that you reach the "green" in three shots on 500+ yards. Then some sadistic batsage had to come up with putting the ball on a surface that has all kinds of breaks.

You and Mike are the only Brits I know to take out my frustration.

I tend to think it's more procedural...as if someone starts out slow (ala McGinest..as he always has started.) there is more an understanding that they WILL be practicing and that the players with injuries with unknown results, are the real PUP. So I tend to think that is the case...the conditioing one would hope WOULD pass...OR be cut as EKelly was.

13 days counting who will be cut? Happening SOON!!!!

With 3 rookies signed...Richardson, Oldenburg and now Hilliard this AM the team is now at the 83 limit of signed players.
The ax is coming down VERY soon....I really find this interesting as to who they keep..yes even at the 80 plus level..there are still not easy decisions to be made. Which of the UDFAs will make the grade...show something??? Which will not..OR will a vet be shown the door.

Scotland is a land of Calvinism, a religion that believes that human beings in themselves are totally depraved and deserve to be punished with eternal damnation but that God elects some to be saved for reasons that have nothing to do with their merits or efforts.

So they invented golf ...

I'm hoping Caldwell will be cut if he isn't traded.

Oh, don't start this again. You should know better.

I'm just responding to the OP's question as to who i think will be cut.

I would hope it would be Reche if anyone, but that doesn't make very much sense....

Why cut him when you can trade him?

Trading him would be a great idea i think... i'm not just saying this, i really believe it.

I won't say it again in this thread but i thought i should at least add my valuable opinion.

That makes everything so much clearer now.

So, you don't like Caldwell?

Actually, I think LeKevin Smith could be in trouble this year.

Re: 14 days and counting who will be cut???

Among the late (cuts in July in previous years)
-----03 RB Derek Watson, WRs Tom Taylor, Rob Millanese and Kerry Watkins (who was signed a few days later at teh start of camp ) and OL Dave Petruziello.
------04 DB Otis Smith and Jason Perry and DL Ryan Atoe and WRs Marquise Walker and Ricky Bryant
------05 DT DeMarco McNeil and RBs DeCori Birmingham and Earl Charles
-------06 OL Jon Doty and Jeff Roehl, DL Kader Drame, LB Ryan Claridge and DBs Jarvis Herring and Gemara Williams (ending up on IR)
It will be interesting to see who is cut this year in the next week.

there's a mystery with claridge

The Active/PUP (Preseason/PUP) does count against the active roster limit.
The Reserve/PUP doesn't.
Paxton, Seymour, and whole bunch were placed on the Preseason/PUP last year, and all counted against the active roster. Only Pass made it to the Reserve/PUP.

he was cut, and nobody picked him up, right?
usually patriot castoffs get at least a look somewhere else.
i don't recall him ever having been invited to work out for another team.

Negative.

He is a free agent. He finished the season on the injured reserve (after spending the first 6-7 weeks on the PUP), so his inactivity this offseason may very well be injury-related.

Lua's signing has gone official (per Patriots.com), but Oldenburg's has yet to. So if my math is correct (which it is :D), the Pats are officially at 79 players, barring the possible technicality that Samuel doesn't count against the active roster (something I'm not sure of). Keep in mind Brown hasn't officially signed yet. So once Brown's and Oldenburg's signings become official, the Pats will (with the lone exception being if Samuel doesn't count - although I have a feeling we'll see a deal struck tomorrow before 4) need to make 1 cut.

VERY true...the ax will start falling soon...and I really believe even THESE cuts will be hard...but some MAY return as well.

Poor Reche...Let's not forget Randy has the potential to be side lined due to attitude problems and Dante Stallworth has a history of injury issues...would not be shocked to see Reche as our #1 receiver again by year's end.

 Reche will make a very good no. 4 receiver, with Moss, Stallworth and Welker in front of him. Too much higher up the depth chart means trouble.
