Draft Day 2: Official Rounds 2-3 Thread

I know nothing about Valentine but he is clearly a big body DT. I doubt he is much of a pass rusher which is what i wanted form the DT spot.

After I finally found his profile, it did say he had more career sacks than his teammate Maliek Collins, who I think went higher. But I'm really really disappointed by this one.

So 4 picks turns out to one guy Jones, who made play and two others guys who will not make the team.

Another awful draft!!! I have no idea why I keep watching this

which is why i prefer free agency. at least we got bennett, doubt we resign him though. brady being gone basically kills any enthusiasm for next season. now this garbage draft....last years draft was also garbage but we still made it to the AFC title game.

Exactly one entrant in the PatsFans draft contest correctly predicted Vincent Valentine: my teenage daughter, who picks solely based on the players' names. I guess we should look for Zeek Bigger and Scooby Wright III in later rounds.

Valentine's career showed real promise at times, yet was marked by inconsistency and injury. He played in all 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2013, getting a starting call six times (the first four, and the final two) in order to make 21 tackles, five for loss and a sack. In the Illinois high school all-state pick’s sophomore season, it looked like the consistency was coming as he started 11 times, recording 45 stops, seven for loss, and three sacks in the middle. A knee injury slowed him down during his fourth and final year on campus, limiting him to seven starts, 10 tackles, four for loss, and three sacks. Instead of returning to school to prove himself to scouts, Valentine chose to leave early for the NFL with his diploma in hand.

Yet another GIMPY DL prospect... Where is that bottle...

Early contender for post of the year right here.....

I was SOO FAWKN PISSED @ BB for taking Jordan Richards last year in the 2nd rd WAYYYY WAYYYYY TOO FAWKN EARLY!!.. It still ANGERS THE HELL OUTTA ME!!.. CAN N E ONE TELL ME WHY U TAKE A FREAKING QB THIS EARLY WHEN U HAVE A QB WHO U JUST DRAFTED TWO YRS GO AND ESPECISLLYLY GIVEN OTHER BETTER PLAYERS ON THE BOARD THAT HAVE A WAYYYY BETTER CHANCE @ HELPING THEIR FIRST YR!!.. WOW!!.. Just wow..

Really? I thought we had plenty of stuffer types up front..

Do you think any of the teams picking 29-35 would have taken 2 seconds and 2 thirds to move up there?

Looking back, I'd trade them all for Myles Jack.

Patsfans your not going to like this

A friend of mine goes to Nebraska. Here is what he told me about Valentine

"As a Nebraska fan, he'll never be good. Has a lot of natural ability and a great frame, but is very fat and lazy. Teammates challenged his work ethic in college and he didn't respond. Didn't progress at all from his freshman year to junior year"

Brissett being taking should end any "Garoppolo is the next guy" stuff.
Why? They had to have somebody to back JG up in the early part of the season.

We shouldnt pass judgement on the players drafted until they take the field. You never know, they could be big contributors.

Which is really weird because patsfans.com has proven that Belichick has massively screwed up his last 19 drafts.
Actually if not for Brady and Gronk, his drafts have not been noticeably better than any other team.

BB is a great coach and great at making trades but his drafting has been pretty suspect.

Holy moly.

So Valentine is fat, not in the best if shape...neither was Ted Washington, Vince Wilfork, or Keith Traylor... They all played OK in NE.... I'll wait a bit before whine about the pick
