NFL Owners furious with Goodell

Yeah, this one is an eye-roller. Furious? Then do something about it that doesn't involve anonymous quotes. He works for THEM.

Thing is, at least this tells us Packers fans don't like Goodell. I think the guy is universally hated now, which was not true at the beginning of the calendar year.

That's a point I never considered before. The league found a way to keep over $100 million from the players until the discrepancy was discovered. Labor discussions around dividing revenue are always contentious. Somehow, though, they willingly pay the commissioner far more per year than any player gets.

Agree. The Duke just got better with age. JB Brooks would still have taken out Goody and his henchmen in a couple of minutes.

I'll be the first to admit if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that owners speaking to reporters anonymously are likely doing so because they're in the minority of their special club. Putting out rumors is the only avenue they have left to impact the situation. The owners with the real power need permission from no one to can Goodell, and they certainly don't need to foment public opinion to their side to do it (given how obvious public sentiment about Goodell is.)

Folks, seriously. We all WANT this to happen, we WANT the owners to understand the frustration of the fan. But the fact is this, from the article:

The real NFL owners, the billionaires who roll in circles we don't even comprehend, the Kraft's of the world who are 'one of 32' before they care about their team, are not about to remove a commish that has them at the top of the sports world basically 11 months a year and making money hand over fist.

He's awful, in so many ways, from the fans perspective, but from the owners perspective they see $$$ and nothing but.

Yea I agree. I was 1/2 joking w The Dude even though I love that movie and Bridges was great. Goodman deserved a nod for BSA too.
