Draft Day 2: Official Rounds 2-3 Thread

Don't be surprised to see us go safety today. I've seen it from two separate sources. Nothing definitive but worth keeping an eye on. Jeremy Cash or Miles Killebrew have been suggested.

I'd strongly suspect BB of having some weird OCD disorder if he picks another safety this high, especially with so few picks next year. That'd be torture having another 2 round safety no matter who it may be. Fortunately, draft gossip about the Pats is rarely correct.

Unless it's Sean Davis, I'm hoping not too.

The greatest thing that the Patriots could do is trade up in Round 2
to the first slot to stick it to Goodell; so the Patriot would lose their
pick at 29 but get to pick at 32, ha! I would love that soooo much.

What I think would be even better would be for the Patriots (if they had the assets) to trade with a team for the draft rights to someone drafted yesterday, so they would get a first round player without the pick. :D

there are 25 guys still available that I would rather have than the last 10 guys taken in the first round

Unfortunately, the rookie pool alloted to us wouldn't accoomodate that. :(

Ultimately, I think the Revenge BB is hoping for is the proverbial best, "Live Well."

Tony Pauline day 2 rumours:

There is speculation the Dallas Cowboys are trying to trade up to the top of Round 2 for the ability to select either Noah Spence or Kamalei Correa. I've been informed the player they covet is Emmanuel Ogbah of Oklahoma State.

Don't expect Mackensie Alexander to be on the board too long, as the Kansas City Chiefs are the odds on favor to scoop him up with the 37th pick.

The Giants are looking for a free safety, which leads many to believe they will target T.J. Green. I'm told the team also hopes to draft an offensive lineman on Day 2.

Several safeties are expected to come off the board in the next two rounds, and I'm told that besides the Giants, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings will target the position this evening.

I'm told there will be an early run on the defensive tackles that could last through the 12 pick of Round 2. Many of remaining on the board are just great value at this point.

Two names to watch out for that aren't really being talked about in this thread:

1. Jonathan Bullard, DL, Florida - Statistically the best run stopping DT in the draft with Easley's get off at the snap. Was #1 on my personal Patriots big board

2. Austin Johnson, DT, Penn State - Would be the Alan Branch long term replacement. Good at taking on double teams.

I'm hoping both fall.

I'm hoping Bullard falls far enough for us to trade up and grab him without losing too much.

I really like Killabrew. But hopefully we won't take him today.

The Browns have got picks 99 and 100 to start day 3. I'd love for the Pats to get their hands on those two picks somehow.

Do we pick a Stanford prospect today or tomorrow?

What's your take on Leonte Carroo? Will Bill jump on him? A decent receiver from Rutgers, will he be able to help himself?

He wasn't my favourite receiver to watch, but the analytics guys love him. Very productive and fairly young at 22. Both those things are analytic signals for a successful career.
