Brady's legal team expands

How utterly EPIC would it be if Brady won again on appeal? It would be like a mini-Super Bowl win to me. Wipe those fat ****ing smirks off the faces of the Brady bashers doing their victory laps.

Not saying it is likely but the fact that Brady is continuing to fight his ass off over this is reassuring and good news.

The media coverage alone parallels this to that documentary. Obviously not to the extent of a possible murder, but the way the media covered the entire thing and the slants to which they covered it just reeks of Deflategate. It's truly remarkable.

i am hoping 60 min does an expose...or even dateline. Its hard to believe that people are so stupid i think that if the truth of what has happened was picked up by national news public opinion would sway literally overnight. get that kid ben goodell on shark tank or something.

After Tom lost the appeal, I do wonder if he contemplated just a little to call Goody and cut a deal but once he started seeing Der Fuher do his dancing on the patio at his Eagle's Nest retreat he pulled a Clint Eastwood in Absolute Power and decided to fight to the death.

I think back to some of the more accusatory posts in other threads, saying that people here were revealing themselves to be more Tom Brady fans than NE Patriot fans.

Um, yeah. I am. This is why. Tom Brady is Tom freakin' Brady who never EVER gives up the fight and the Patriots as an organization are just a part of the NFL corporation with Bob Kraft as the fearless leader. His idea of a fight is putting up a 12 jersey picture on Instagram and accepting the punishment. So you can bet your ass I'm a fan of Tom Brady.

I said in another thread yesterday that I think his interview with CBS would bite him in the ass. That's a program you go on to butter up everyone else who isn't football fans. I would bet good money Mr. TFB had it on in the background and.....here we are.

I really don't see the justification for all the excitement here. He needed to hire Olsen for the appeal, not now when there is very little he can do. Both en banc and cert. are very much long shots and there is very little Olsen can do to change that. (And yes, once upon a time at least some decades back, I was actually a practicing attorney).

I still maintain a 60 Minutes expose is Brady's best shot at redemption.

This is gonna be good. Supreme Court here we come...

I wish this move had been made before the appeal rather than now, but better late than never.

Question for people who are well-versed in this stuff: even if the SC decides to hear this case, what are the odds that the result is anything other than a 4-4 split along purely ideological lines? Seems like it would be a shock for any of Roberts/Alito/Thomas/Kennedy to depart from the anti-labor party line and rule and decide in Brady's favor. Seems like en banc is still the best shot at success, however unlikely it may be.

This assumes, of course, that Clinton wins the presidency and a Republican-dominated senate continues to stonewall any attempt at a SC appointment.

Well, I think the problem is the visibility of the case and the repercussions of it throughout our society.

Keep in mind, the Wells Report would be Brady's focus, not Goodell's powers. It became Goodell's powers as part of their appeal, which was to quickly deflect from the fraudulent Wells Report.

Put it this way:

Goodell is Coke, the Colts, Ravens, Jets, etc, are RC Cola. The Pats are Pepsi.

Goodell, as Coke, aligns with RC Cola, they plant a lie about Pepsi, use the media to spread said lie, to gain financial and competitive advantages.

That's illegal.

Brady would win in a sweep if this got to the SC. The stuff is on their (Goodell, Harbaugh, Pagano, Grigson, Pash, etc, etc, etc) phones is not stuff they want to answer to in front of ANY federal court from underneath the shield.

It's just that simple. They're guilty and the Pats know it, some in the media know it, some fans know it and Pats fans like you and me, asbolutely know it.

They just need a platform to get to the discovery part and focus in on the 56 lies that can be proven in the Wells Report.

It's more than 56, Bruce Allen missed some like D'Qwell Jackson and Mike Adams' statements.

Not even trying to be funny here....I felt totally deflated when they overturned the overturned verdict, and the suspensions was resinstated.

NOW that we know Brady is still fighting, and that they have hired the Hulk, CaptainAmerica, Superman and The Terminator all rolled in to one, I feel AWESOME.

This news has surprisingly improved my mood 1 million percent.

Here's a question - does name-brand in attorneys count for anything here? Not every case has Ted Olson and Paul Clement as opposing attorneys. Presumably they signed onto the case for 1) big money from their clients, 2) prestige of the case which rubs off onto them, and 3) actually thinking they can win, tying to item 2 (being losing attorney may hurt prestige). Would the judges look at the attorneys and think, "wow, they've got some big name people involved, this must be a really important issue, we should take a second look at this case instead of the other cases with peon attorneys leading them?"

Can I have this done in calligraphy and framed? :D
here's the calligraphy. you'll have to get your own frame.

The thing that puzzles me is why add an attorney when en banc and SCOTUS are unlikely. The NFLPA failed when they didn't match the NFL's hire of Clement. Whether he lied or didn't lie he got the job done.

Kessler was caught flat-footed by all accounts and didn't impress the judges at all. Brady's best move is still the lawsuit. File the papers already son.

I think it sucks that football is no longer discussed here and it feels like I'm on courttv.com when I log into Patsfans. I blame this all on Roger, that guy sucks big time and is single-handedly nuking my interest in the sport. That's some ********!

Roger just Goodelled in his pants after this news. Ohh by the way, NFL.com hasn't posted anything about this.

still a longshot to get this overturned again

but at least tom's fighting unlike our pathetic old miserable jellyfish owner. god, i hate kraft so much. even more so than goodell at times

This guy would not have taken this case if an en banc or SCOTUS even wasn't gonna happen.

Screw Jordan. The NFLPA just dipped into the free agency pool and signed this guy.

Jordan was nasty but LB was NASTIER.

You've just inspired me to watch Youtube vids of Larry...There goes my evening.

Don't know, I'm getting the "too little too late" vibe. They needed the high-powered guy for the last round. Kessler did well the first time but that wasn't appellate court. Hope I'm wrong.

Very true and I think if you'd need to summon D'Qwell Jackson to take the stand and match it up to what Grigson said or what is on Grigson's emails or texts, you do it.

IMO, Grigson told Sean Sullivan to send him an email that "everyone knows the Pats deflate footballs"..

That was part of their way to cover their butt that it's a set up.

When I heard Jackson say he didn't say that, I thought of Ray Rice saying he did admit he hit his fiancee AFTER Goodell said Rice had not confessed.

I mean, this **** is hard to believe, but I am telling you, it's happening.
