Looks as though folks stuck together, the Celtics/Red Sox attracting viewers might all be ********.. Celtics sucked last night and Clay Bucholz, what else do you need to know..

Celts game was tough but still proud of the team nonetheless.

I want Buchholtz traded. Hes a headcase.

New England is Ma., N.H., Vt., and Maine. Conn. and R.I. are irrelevant.

Not sure if this correct or not but fwiw:

1 rating point = 1% of 2.44 million homes or 24,400 homes in the Boston area. Does not include the rest of Mass.

2015 3.7 x 24,400 = 90,280
2016 1.5 x 24,400 = 36,600

An estimated loss of 53,680 viewers over last year. (Not sure how that translates into advertising dollars)

We can all boycott watching the opening Pats game - Sunday Night Football on the road in AZ. If we could pull off a huge ratings drop in NE and/or the rest of the country for that game I would feel like we are doing at least something to get back at the NFL. We can all find out the score the next morning. It will be tough not to watch but we need to take a stand. I am encouraged by what happened last night. People clearly didn't watch. Keep it going Pats fans.

We can all also try not to watch the NFL special opening game on Thursday night or any of the preseason games.

The opening game is going to be tough to boycott as there are going to be a lot of fans who want to see how well Garropolo fills Brady's shoes, as well as many who want to tune in to see the Pats lose.

I'd say there is a pretty good chance Goodell shows up in hopes of seeing the fruits of his handiwork occur.

Do they still use Nielsen boxes? What's the difference if 10 of us watch it together vs 10 people without boxes or over the air antenna?

Great job Pats fans. I hope new england fans boycott our home opener against Miami if Brady is still suspended. :D

There are a ton of Giants fans down there...believe me.
Yes! Just as there are many NY Yankee fans in Rhody there are also many NY Giant fans.
The historical basis of the RI Yankee fan comes from a cultural angle due to the large Italian American population that was drawn to the Yankees due to their impressive stable of great Italian American ballplayers, Joe D, Yogi, Rizzuto etc.
NY Giant fans are a generational fandom. Fathers and Grandfathers were NY Giant fans because that was the "local" franchise of their youth and that interest has been passed on to their kids.
STRONG Patriot love down here but there are big pockets of Giant fans.

Thrilled the Boston market gave the NFL a mega middle finger. Nice to see overall rating dropping also.

All the more reason to push a boycott. I will still be cheering for the Pats to win, just not watching it live and giving the NFL one cent of advertising revenues due to me.

Want to make some real impact?
An organized, vocal boycott of any advertisers of the four games without Brady.
Sign a contract agreeing to avoid those products for a term of not less than one year.
Maybe a public dumping of those products into Boston harbor after game one. (In an environmentally-sensitive manner)
Who is up for that?

Not a bad idea - maybe even an e-mail campaign prior urging these folks not to advertise during any games where Brady is suspended.

I boycotted last night and will the rest of the weekend because my NFL enthusiasm is so low due to Gotohell and the 32 but I gotta be honest...most of that is the draft just sucks unless you have a top 10 pick anyway. Skipping An actual game is something I can't do right now. Too many players I love and want to continue to support. Gronk, collins, eldemania, butler, mccourty, ninkovich and of course the main man general hoodie. Yeah Brady is incredible and worth the price of admission but he is just part of why the pats are so Damn good and for now (though the rest of the NFL can burn ) I find it entertaining and leaving me going what are they gonna do next? What I have done since the wells report, and will continue to do is not watch a millisecond of BSPN or NFL network. I have not bought one thing with an NFL logo on it. I have and will not attend a game. I used to watch an hour of NFL network a day, I used to spend 1-300$ a year on clothes and memorabilia. I used to go to a game or two a year. Hope they enjoy losing a lifelong customer and I would highly suggest every pats fan do the same. I wish I could say I will fully quit the NFL but I know the next Gronk or Wilfork or Troy Brown will keep me in. Go Pats!!!

Well I did my part in Jax Beach. I can't help that the rest of the Jags fans and transplants watched the damn thing around here. This is on the heels of ratings declining in the Super Bowl as well. I hope it's the beginning of a trend so we can see the owners learn their lesson and fire Goodell out on his ass.

Foxboro is much closer to the Ct and RI borders than three of the 4 states you mention. And I'm in no way discounting those states. Northern VT is one of my favorite places on earth.

Not only did Sky Sports not get my viewership of the draft, I turned the channel over when Sky Sports News did a recap of what went on...so have no idea at all (and don't care, tbh) what happened and who teams picked.

It will have meant nothing to them, but got to help show the anger even in Old England.

Fantastic news lets keep this going!

Not only did I not watch, I didn't check any sites, and STILL don't even know the name of one person selected last night. Zero ****s given...

**** you Goondell and the rest of you degenerate NFL assholes...
