Brady should rationally consider any deal that involves no admission whatsoever of guilt.

If there is such a deal, the press release from his side should stress that there was no admission of guilt, that he was not in fact guilty, and that he traded away his right to file a defamation suit so as to settle the whole thing.

Under such circumstances, he should consider dealing. In fact, I'd advise him to leak the fact that he'd consider such a deal.
Any settlement will be viewed as an admission of guilt regardless of what press release he puts with it.
Brady should fight until there is no fight left and not give in win or lose just like he does in the football field.

Thanks for that, really does mean a lot. Gronk always gets screwed, didn't seem too out of the ordinary to me. The first Denver was real ****ty like I said but the second was very winninable. Never should have been played in Denver had they not crapped the bed last two weeks. Refs were considerable worse for us this season but, I didn't feel as though Denver had a huge boost.
I was only referring to the first meeting. It determined homefield. My point is being missed. But again, I truly respect you, brother. I hear you loud and clear, but I cannot fully agree when I absolutely feel that game was given to Denver so that they stood a better chance of HFA. I normally don't engage in conspiracy theories like this, but when every station was saying Manning would come back to win a SB and that's EXACTLY what happen just one week after he was benched for playing like absolute garbage . . . I just can't turn away from that. Everyone with eyes could see that last season would be Manning's last. He had to win it or it was never going to happen for him again.

He can take a deal for a fine that says he admits to inadvertant obstruction over the cell phone thing- Kessler basically admitted it already in front of Judge Berman- and that won't taint his legacy at all.

Inadvertant is key- meaning he did it by mistake and not deliberately so no precedent is set that the NFL can demand a cell phone as they wish.

Come on. First of all the league won't do that and even if they did Brady accepting any punishment at all will be viewed as admission of guilt no matter what the paperwork texhnically says.

Yesterday I heard he was still the best selling jersey last year. That'll be tough to argue unfortunately.

All it takes is one company to say this is the reason they didn't hire him as a spokesperson, and he has enough standing to bring the case.

Simply settling to reduce the suspension from 4 games to 2- yes it will be looked at as guilty of cheating.

A deal to just say he got some bad advice to get rid of the phone when he did won't be viewed that way at all. Nobody is calling Favre a cheat for that. And Kessler already said in court that Brady probably "should have handled it differently"

And if the league gets enough pressure from within they will find a creative way to settle. I agree it's not likely but I bet it's something Brady will consider if he gets the offer to put this behind him.

Do you seriously think the wording in an agreement will change anyone's belief? That is very naive.

Goodell demanded an admission of guilt before he won in court. He is running around saying the court proved he is right and Brady paid off people and masterminded a devious scheme to cheat. Now you think he will reduce the suspension and agree Brady did nothing wrong? Just won't happen. Fight to the bitter end. That's the only way to go v

Right now Brady and Montana are all time #1 and #2, if Brady does not prevail he will be relegated to the second spot evermore..

He has to fight for his legacy...

He has to fight, but not because of some silly ranking.

is that scumbag commissioner really accusing Brady of paying people off and masterminding a devious scheme to cheat? Somebody please kick this ahole where he can feel it. THIS COMMISSIONER SHOULD NEVER EVER SIT AND WATCH A GAME AT GILETTE STADIUM IN PEACE AGAIN.

He football legacy is secure. That is not an issue.

It's all about what his personal legacy is to himself and his family.

He needs to fight so A) He isn't sitting in front of the TV in 2039 and some a-hole on ESPN is doing a 30 for 30 and asks hypothetically, "What if Brady took this to the Supreme Court or asked for an En Banc hearing?." and B) So he doesn't have to give his kids and grandkids a lengthy ******** answer on why he chose to no longer fight for his innocence when he was still able to.

The Brady name is what matters to him most.

That was his finding. That is what was argued in court.
Brady gave merchandise to deflator and Dorito dink as an inducement to get them to deflate footballs and orchestrated the scheme.
He is no longer more likely than not generally aware of something that more likely than not happened ( despite scientific proof it didn't )
He is suspended for orchestrating a conspiracy to deflate footballs paying off the people who did it and destroying evidence to cover up the scheme.

Really isn't even true, I think Kessler just said as bit of some sort of negotiating (probably better word for it, like to seem more unbiased?). There's no reason the NFL ever should have had access to his phone. And if that's the reason he's suspended then Favre and Gostowski should have been suspended too.

He has to fight, but not because of some silly ranking.

Rankings are important.. see any thread on this board having to do with such.

Different people have different opinions, imo if he is not completely exonerated in the future there will always be the silly talk of an asterisk next to his name..

First off, I'm not sure that the owners want any such thing (reduction/settlement), this whole witch hunt was orchestrated by Irsay, Biscotti, et al. These teams have reguarly been beaten by Brady and can't keep up with him on the field so they devised this scheme and frankly it has worked better than their wildest dreams could have imagined.

Brady is sidelined for 4 games, the Pat's were docked another first round pick plus a 4th, and their image is forever tarnished. Incredible if you think about it, the Colts only championship came via a phantom OPI call, and a QB so full of HGH that his head actually grew five sizes. Baltimore's won with an actual murderer leading their team, but the Pat's are the ones that are tarnished.

Now Kraft is MIA, he should be on the war path, but instead he is doing his best Kevin Bacon from Animal House impression, too bad he can't summon the strength to be the Kevin Bacon from Footlooose.

Don't go poking that's hornet's nest when Aaron Hernadez played for the Pats

I agree rankings and how Tom stacks up vs Montana is important to his legacy.

But this entire episode has zero impact on the player v player comparison.

Only the anti-Brady/Patriot crowd would use this as a negative when comparing the two players and if they do, by default they are not making a pure-football assessment.

You know this.

The trolls, haters and 49er fan boys won't ever put him over Montana. Especially at the current situation.

But when Tom wins #5, there will be absolutely no doubt who the GOAT is.
