Robert Kraft should sell the team.

Its been days since the ruling and still nothing from Kraft. Not even a single tweet saying he supports TFB. What is he waiting for. Its not like he can say that the team is concentrating on the draft. Most of the NFL will have made two selections before the Pats even smell the podium.

I can only hope that the Patriot draft chairs have those cymbal playing monkeys sitting in them tonight and not actual employees.

You've been going out of your way to excuse him for some time. This statement is a great example. It's not that Kraft screwed up. It's that Kraft screwed up then didn't have the balls to at least back his quarterback and admit his mistake in public. Doing that would have at least been free of charge. That would make him a piece of garbage. I've been in a meeting for the last hour and a half. Did I miss Kraft's statement on the appellate court's ruling and Brady? Nah... didn't think so.

Probably because it would be the right thing to do for a guy who, as you said, has taken pay cut after pay cut to stay with the franchise, bring it four Super Bowl titles, six appearances, and make his organization one of the more profitable in the business? Because removing or turning the tide on the guy dead set on abusing Article 46 would be in the long term best interests in the league? Should I keep going?

I've long known of him being disconnected from reality too. I just didn't think he would leave his franchise quarterback hanging out to dry like that. I figured he'd learned his lesson from Spygate.

no I didn't........I simply wasn't surprised by how it all transpired.....I've never confused him with someone who has a spine

I just think it's pretty typical for someone of his means and background

it is apparent there a quite a few around here who seem shocked by his part acting like "how could he do this to us?"

my answer to that is "easy"

deflategate still isn't the lamest Kraft I've ever seen.......he tried to charm Menino with the downtown stadium thing and he got stomped like a bug

Yeah and he can't even get a small soccer stadium built in the city either.

his displays of backbone are limited to a binding contract preventing orthwein from moving the team to st louis and the leverage of threatening to move the team to CT (and then appearing to be the hero by keeping the team in foxboro)

he is who he is and he's always been that

This would make sense if Brady played and dealt directly with Kraft instead of Belichick. The best move Kraft ever made was being hands off when it came to that arena and letting Belichick run things. And no, Brady doesn't need anyone to tell Kraft to go to bat for him. Kraft should have just done it. Luckily for Brady, he still has a legal team to do that. But I do laugh at you saying their relationship is "rock solid" as if you have some sort of insider knowledge. Because Brady hasn't come out publicly against him doesn't mean he's happy with the way Kraft has, or hasn't, done things thus far. Kraft is pretty clearly on the opposite side of Brady in this and his silence since Monday is deafening.

Actually, if you've read the thread, I've credited Kraft with being an excellent owner when it comes to the actual business aspect of it and clearly stated he shouldn't sell the team. I do prefer to exercise some critical thinking skills from time to time, however, and can separate the good things that he's done from the not so good. You seem to be aware that this is the latter, given your own words.

I get a good laugh when I watch people slam Goodell for this while going out of their way to excuse Kraft. It's as if they completely forget how instrumental Kraft was to Goodell becoming what he is today. Tell me who pushed through the current CBA that we enjoy? The one that granted Goodell power as judge, jury, and executioner? That was Kraft. Kraft was absolutely instrumental in that deal getting done. So no matter what way you want to cut it, Kraft is at fault here.

Lots of words mean ****, and your effort to bully other posters is noted.. however I stand by my belief that Kraft is an excellent owner and we are lucky to have him compared to the previous fools..

He screwed this up, time to move on.. now you are contending that Kraft was the one who pushed the current CBA through, no other owner was involved?? Sure Kraft was one of the many owners who pushed this through, but as in many things there are unintended consequences..

Unbridled anger based on what you hear is a wasted emotion on message boards.. it accomplishes nothing, as you or no one else know all of the details..

Kraft should not sell the team, and in time Jonathan will fill his shoes.. that will probably not change. we are lucky to have this ownership. What Kraft did had nothing to do with the legal issues of Brady, they are parallel and distinct..

You sound angry. Who have I bullied?

however I stand by my belief that Kraft is an excellent owner and we are lucky to have him compared to the previous fools..

You should actually read the thread...

He's an idiot. He helped create the monster that is Goodell today and publicly supported him when he definitely shouldn't have. That said, as far as owning a team the right way (I.E. - staying the hell out of the way and letting people who know what they're doing take care of that side of things), he's about as good as you can get. He's a **** and he's as greedy as they come (like the rest of the owners), but I'd rather have him than a guy like Haslem.

That he's been an excellent owner and that he screwed this up and has been a piece of trash throughout this scandal should be separate.

He screwed this up, time to move on.. now you are contending that Kraft was the one who pushed the current CBA through

I said he was instrumental in getting the current CBA pushed through. The current CBA never addressed Article 46 in the face of overwhelming evidence that we had a megalomaniac commissioner in office that should not be judge, jury, or executioner. Like I asked before, have you followed this at all?

Robert Kraft saves football - The Boston Globe

no other owner was involved??

Straw man.

Sure Kraft was one of the many owners who pushed this through, but as in many things there are unintended consequences..

Anyone with two eyes and a brain could have seen that at least amending Article 46 would probably be a pretty good idea with Goodell.

Unbridled anger based on what you hear is a wasted emotion on message boards.. it accomplishes nothing, as you or no one else know all of the details..

Once again, none of this is hearsay. It's all been pretty well reported on and confirmed.

Kraft should not sell the team, and in time Jonathan will fill his shoes.. that will probably not change. we are lucky to have this ownership. What Kraft did had nothing to do with the legal issues of Brady, they are parallel and distinct..

No, they really aren't as has been pointed out to you multiple times.

This thread is reminiscent of threads last year."i'm giving up my tickets; you won't see me at Gillette Stadium!" "Bob Kraft is a pansy "!
Maybe somebody from this forum can organize a rally at Gillette. I think I remember there was one last Mother's Day. That went over real well
