WEEI: Goodell spoke to the Krafts after the ruling

Goodell: “It’s very simple. In this case we had an independent council look at this case,” Goodell said. “They went through all the facts. We did not participate directly in that. We cooperated, of course. We looked for cooperation from the team and the other individuals. We got some of that. There was an independent investigation on this and an independent report that was presented to me. That is what we based the judgement on and then we had a hearing. We had a process that is articulated in our collective bargaining agreement that has been there for several decades.”

Hilarious. There has to be some kind of condition to describe this kind of delusion but I can't think of the word.

I don't think we should get into politics in threads like this, there is a place in these forums for that (Political forum).

You won't find anyone pimping Clinton, Cruz, Kasich, or Sanders, it's only one faction that refuses to stop pimping their candidate in this football forum. It's really obnoxious.

The level of cooperation with Goodell by the Krafts continues to be the most painful part of all of this. Kind of contradicts the "I love Tom like a son" thing, doesn't it?

Pathological liar

But Article 46 has always been a part of the CBA. It's just previous commissioners never used it to railroad players because they actually had integrity.

It didn't become "unchecked power" until Monday when the ruling came down from the appellate court.

This would have never happened with Tagliabue.

How can someone who has made this much money in business be so spineless? Basically he is getting taken to the woodshed by an intern, whose only real accomplishment in life is that his Dad was a Senator.

I've lost all respect for Kraft, he should just sell the team and move on.

I can't see how Brady even looks him in the face.

You know, this baffles me more than anything. How could an experienced business owner be surprised (and subsequently taken advantage of) by a guy like Goodell? Everything I read about Goodell's background SCREAMS insecure loser who enjoys bullying people above all else. Yet, Kraft was pumping this guy's tires since day one and continued to do even after it became apparent that Goodell was an unhinged tyrant/horse's ass.

The time for Kraft to come out and say, "I was wrong to trust this guy" was when Goodell was caught lying in the Rice scandal (instead, he CONTINUED to support him). Saying it now after his team got burned in framegate doesn't do anybody any good whatsoever.

These days every thread MUST have a political injection by post #5, at the very latest. Every, single one...

I don't wish harm to anyone, but if I did, I would wish nothing but pain, suffering, and tragedy to the entire Goddell family.

But I don't

DO you think Rozelle or Tagliabue would have acted so recklessly? I don't think so.....
Rozelle is arguably the greatest commissioner in North American sports history. He is the #1 reason the NFL went from a niche product to the sports behemoth it is today. Goodell's problem is he thinks he deserves credit for the hard work and intelligence Rozelle provided.

If this whole thing happened on Rozelle's watch, he would have responded with his bemused smile and rolled his eyes.

Oh.. Okay. And should another owner say moves the team to San Antonio or Oklahoma City you would say yipee?

On that list of deflategate lies that Bruce Allen put together, there's one (submitted by a reader) where Goodell quotes the Wells report in his decision on Brady's appeal. The problem is, that quote never appeared in the report, which suggests the league had an earlier version of the report. If that's the case, then it wasn't independent.

you don't know that.........all this crap is being waged in the background by the 2000-2005 wave of new ownership plus jerry jones

MEGALOMANIA

right like the NFL would like to move out of the Boston market to Oklahoma City or San Antonio plus Jerrah would have a cow if the NFL moved anyone to either location. I would love it if the Pats moved to Vegas! That would be great, have Kraft sell the team to someone that wouldn't sell out the greatest QB of all time, then move it to Vegas! I'd buy season tickets. I can load up on the skymiles, gI already get a free room in Vegas, it would be great! Maybe I could even convince a certain senile old man from Arizona to come up and watch the Pats and have a drink with me!

I have always been a staunch supporter of Kraft, but his actions during this entire frame job have been unforgiveable! Maybe its because I'm someone hold holds grudges, but I still can't see how he can have any conversations with Goodell that don't involve calling Goodell crooked and a liar! Instead he has bent over and taken it.

It $ure doe$.
When I see JONATHAN (the supposed "bad ***" of the family) hugging Goodell on the field it's mind blowing. We keep hearing about the power of the Kraft'$ within the league and yet I can't see where it has helped this organization in any way. I've heard some folks claim they get better scheduling/start time considerations to which I say NONSENSE! The Patriots ratings draw is the reason they get those prime spots.
So I'll ask again, what do the Kraft'$ get in return for continually kissing Clown's ass???

There are very few things that would get me to stop supporting the Patriots, this would be one. If he ever bought this team I would be done with football for good the moment the deal went through. He's a piece of sh.t.

I wish Trump would buy tomorrow.
