When Brady Retires, are you done?

I bet the customer service agent, on the other end of the phone line, live from a call center in India, has passed on your complaint directly to the Roger!

Hey, I don't blame you, though. Money is the only thing that Roger and (Kraft) listen to.

I wish there was a way we could all unite to send a message that is unmistakable. Unfortunately, most of us have a hopeless addiction to this game, as crooked as it is being run.
I get your point but unless things have changed recently DTV customer service is somewhere in middle America. Utah I think.

Tough choice right now who gets the Academy Award in this thread.

Everyone's different...
This day zero fan who went to games with horrendous Pats teams decade after decade already gave up all games last year when Kraft bent over; not going to Gillette paying him for tickets, parking, beer, etc.
Already gave up all network pre & post game TV.
Called Comcast and dropped my premium package that carried NFLN

I have no interest in the draft this year although I'm not a draftnik anyway but less interest than ever.

I will watch Pats on TV rooting for coach & players while Brady is still playing

I might go to training camp to see Brady and may go to another game at Gillette to see Brady before he retires but when he's gone I'm over my lifetime following the corrupt NFL.

your morals are amazing......so you're out, but not really

its better to admit that you'll get over it and still be watching in 10 years

Yup, once Brady retires I'm all done.

I'll watch a game here and there, obviously the playoffs if the team makes it, but my "obsessed fan" card is getting turned in once TB12 hangs it up.

I've had it with this league, this owner and the fact that I can't even read an article or talk to other fans in peace with "cheating" or "spyagte" and "deflategate" being mentioned.

I feel like I'm at this point now. The 'obsessed fan' in me is dead at this point. Similar to what happened with me and hockey in the mid-90's with the strike - I quickly tailed off watching/paying attention and if the Bruins happened to do well, I may watch a game or to, if there wasn't anything else more interesting going on.

I live out of market now, so getting Pats games last season was tough for the games that weren't on TV down here. I won't search those streams/games out now, I sure as HELL won't pay for Sunday Ticket, I'll catch the box score after the game and that's about it.

Freeing up my Sundays from Sept - Jan is actually going to be nice I think. I'll always hope the Pats do well, but i won't go out of my way to pay attention anymore. Can't support this league anymore.

The way I see it is if you're not "done" with the NFL now, you won't be when Brady and BB are gone. If you were that pissed (and I know we all are) you wouldn't need the qualifier of Brady or BB leaving to stop following. To me, and this isn't to paint all of you with a broad brush, that is just an excuse for being a bandwagon fan. You're pissed at the league so much that you're done following the NFL--but only when the greatest head coach and quarterback in league history are gone and it's all downhill from there for us? Meh.

its entertainment.....you don't have to be this way

"It's Entertainment" is an overly simplistic way of categorizing an event people have spent lifetimes watching. I mean there is a difference between your favorite team and a mime performing his "stuck in the box" act in your local park.

You have a confusing position. "It's just entertainment" in one post and "you're a fairweather fan" in another seems a bit hypocritical. Doesn't it?

I don't know, I guess I'm not into playing "who's the better fan" game.

Wrong analogy. It's more like reading a comic book or ongoing series of novels that has been getting suckier and suckier as time goes on, but you're sticking with it to see how the remaining interesting plotline concludes and then once that's concluded, you drop it.

It's sounds like people keep coming up with justifications to stop, but none of them will actually pull the trigger

They'll be here after Brady is gone......watch

I think there's a legitimate reason people are down, but if you get down to brass tacks, it's about the football on Sunday's and I don't believe game day has changed at all with respect to the experience whether at the game or at home

People are putting way too much into the crap away from the field

Yes the Pats got screwed, but I believe Goodell is now temporary....I don't think he will survive the next CBA negotiation.

People need to change their soiled underwear

No. No, no, no. You can want to follow BB and Brady-led teams because you love and respect them despite the rest of the cesspool NFL. Let me make this clear….in a post BB/Brady NFL, the Patriots could be champions under a new HC and quarterback and I WOULD NOT CARE. They could win every game. I don't care.

No. I have said as much many times but no I can't walk away. I am a patriots fan, always have been, always will be.

and in the case of what you write, completely pointless
Let's try and stay on topic and lighten up on the shots at people in this thread. This has come up on more than one occasion recently, so I'd appreciate it if we can get back on topic and avoid those moving forward.

Understood..... I'm no longer taking the topic seriously...... I think its attention getting and that in the end, they will watch anyway.

Yes.

Unless Gronk is still around, then I'll be done when he's done.

Really I don't know...it's hard to make a snap judgment. It's safe to assume I'll be less interested in the sense of following it daily but that's not uncommon - my interest in the NBA waned in the early 2000s though I watch a lot now, and I haven't paid as much attention to MLB the past 5 years as I did before. It all comes and goes. If it's still the highest level of football then I'd be lying if i said I'd be capable of being totally oblivious to it out if some internal sense of justice. But I won't be buying any NFL merchandise in the foreseeable future.

The check I write to Krafty will stop as soon as Brady/BB are retired. That is a fact. If the rest of my family want to keep the seats it's on them. I'm not sure I'll be watching another crappy Pats QB play football either. Been there done that. 1987 to roughly 2001...

The games are free on TV, you know? Don't give these assholes anymore of your money.

I'll still be a fan of the Pats, even after Belichick and Brady retire when that happens. This fiasco has only hardened my disdain for the league office and the other franchises.

I don't expect Goodell to be around for too many more years. Hopefully he'll meet a John Snow-like demise.
