Shame on America

America is on the decline

Make America Great Again

Yeah, see, either nobody is cancelling their season tickets or too few are. As long as the Kraft's still have people lining their pockets instead of going through with a mass exodus of long time season ticket holders, why wouldn't they keep shrugging and smiling? You'll continue to give them thousands of your dollars next season as will a ton of other long time season ticket holders and things will move on as they always were while Goodell "does a great job".
Other possibilities including boycotting the pro shop and stadium concessions (which I pretty much do already anyway). But you're right, nothing would get their attention like a drop in attendance.

Today's Decision 2-1 ,,which takes it to 2-2 if you include Judge Berman is a sad day for all players in the NFL.
What i find sad ,,is the rejoicing of most of America ,,on a player who has been a GREAT Ambassador to the Game and for his Country. Someone who's only guilt is that he is good and wins games.
Shame on America for allowing a Dictator run the NFL,,and makes millions for it !!!
I feel sad , but i take one major positive about todays decision ,,that the one Judge who was against the power of Dictator Goodell ,,,was the Chief Judge and i am hoping it might help our Tommy in future Court Appeal.
I am so far away yet sick to the stomach on Deflategate ,,,God help you all in America with the crazy media circus you have to go through.
Not the end,,but i so wish i could be outside Draft day where i would give away money to every fan going inside and pay them just to BOO Goodell !!! I want to hear the Boos so loud he can't announce the Picks.
Shame on America if this guy is still the Commisioner next Year. GO PATS

Your post fails to mention our money grubbing owner did I miss something?

Please read the ruling. The NFLPA agreed to the CBA that gave the Commissioner the power to be arbitrator in appeals of his own decisions. The courts didn't do this, the NFLPA did.

The dissenting opinion by the Chief Judge is significant as it provides a ray of hope that the full court will hear an appeal. The outcome of that appeal may not be any different because, at the end of the day, the NFLPA agreed to hand the Commissioner these powers.

The don't think the question ever was did the NFLPA provide powers to the NFL commissioner, the question was the extent of that power and/or is superseding law coming into play here. Are you suggesting Goodell's power is absolute or that the NFLPA gave him the power to suspend a player and whatever period of time at his whim/arbitrarily? If so then the case was a loser from the start and these 2 judges were absolutely correct. If you're not then this case is a good one.
I think some have suggested law superseding anything in the CBA states "fundamental fairness" and it cannot be signed away in a CBA. Some have also suggested the gray area of the contract then goes to the spirit of the contract. Did the NFLPA intend to allow Goodell the whim of action universally? Other courts have already said no to that question, that Goodell has procedure to follow within the agreement.

Without an addendum to the CBA this is up to the courts to decide (unless lawmakers passed a law that defines new standards). And 2 judges getting it completely wrong (let's assume they did get it completely wrong for discussion purposes) would hardly be a new thing to the justice system. If I recall correctly approx. 180 years ago 7 of 9 SCOTUS judges overruled a state supreme court to say slavery could not be outlawed by congress or states, and somehow found a way to use the commerce clause (among other things) to justify their ruling.
Obviously a long time ago but it emphasizes the point that judges finding a way to justify how they want to rule versus deciding it according to law has been happening for a long long time.
Let's hope these two got it wrong on a conspicuous enough level that it will capture the attention of other judges to reexamine it. Let's hope these new judges want the ruling to go the other way - they can twist the commerce clause for all I care -- if the law isn't otherwise clear enough. It's sham either way and there ain't thing one that can be done by anyone.
If they don't reverse this then "fundamental fairness" has been further defined in a way that, IMHO, is chilling for anyone that is david in the david vs goliath scenario.

No offense intended Tune but Kraft not giving fans some kind of retribution for the deflategate fiasco has about -1 chance on a scale of 1 to 10 for changing/effecting attendance. One thing is clear about sports, put a winner on the field and you're golden. The tiny edges can be effected a bit but the red meat is the winner on the field.
Never mind the Patriots, the NFL itself has been a poster child for unlikable for multiple years. Rightly or wrongly Goodell's face probably makes the average NFL fan want to beat the crap out of someone. Rightly or wrongly the narrative about many players in the NFL from time to time has been unkind to say the least. To the best of my knowledge there has been no effect on viewership or revenue.

It seems to me if you want to hurt the Patriots' attendance then root for them to have more draft picks taken away as well as urge them to draft poorly. Otherwise BB and TB are the golden ticket to unlimited red meat that a slice of diehards have no power to change. It just it is what it is....

Can we please dump this Sewage in the Political Forum? Just because America has Losers ~ every Nation has'm, most obviously including yours, Abdul ~ but that hardly justifies your idiotic Sewage. I'm not gonna hang my head because some random chump down the road said something stupid, or because a private Enterprise ~ the NFL ~ gave Goodel too much Power. Shame on them, not on America.

Even though we have our share of Buffoons, I'd take America over any other place ~ I'm certainly not one of those spoiled Idiots who doesn't realize how good he has it...Indeed, one thing that I am intensely grateful for is the fact that we don't have you around, spewing out hateful, venomous Sewage like this. :)

a lot of players are thrilled.

if goodell reduces the suspension now, you'll hear people bring up tom brady's white privilege.
that would be spectacular. lol

And Goodell reduces the fine due to his privilege.

God Bless you.

It's more the shock to hear a federal judge state that it is okay for an arbiter to lie or even break the law and still have no worries about the ruling being overturned. Talk about nut land.

This!
Fix Was/Is In from get go so why shouldn't it be any different now? Other than Judge Berman getting it right and seeing through goodell* & his henchmen* in this case 2 outta 3 IS Bad.

Unless its changed, NFL home teams split the attendance capital with their opponents. Kraft would still get paid his full cut when the Pats are on the road.

The big money driving the NFL comes from TV revenue via contract. Plus, the millions that Gillette is paying for stadium name rights isnt going away either.

I understand their opinion but I am not impressed with these judges.

What purpose of theirs was to question the destruction of Brady's cell phone? They had a thought there. Where were they going with it?

The NFL has no legal right to that phone. That is not reasonable.

They didn't even ask for it, but make it an issue in the appeal only when they learn Brady had it disposed of?

Brady provided all texts to Goody and he didn't even have to do it.

Is determining guilt due to "fishiness" really something the judicial system should support? Is that what they are advocating?

If anything, they should have ruled that Goody's actions in this matter were unconstitutional and is not in the spirit of the 4th Amendment.

IMO these judges are lazy. They defaulted to the path of least resistance.

I think one got a pat on the back. I'm not buying lazy.

Wasting your money on stupid **** often is part of the fun of being a fan. There is nothing in the pro shop that might be considered a "necessity," and food/drink in the stadium is both pretty bad and ridiculously overpriced -- but convenient. People buy this stuff because it's fun and denying oneself that part of the experience is a sacrifice, however minor. The point of boycotting it would be to send a message and if enough people did boycott those things the message would be heard.

not at all.......I dumped my season tix after the 2005 season (34 years in the family) and built a man-cave with direct access to the outside......it's good for more than just watching football

I don't believe the NFL has gotten a penny from me (cable sports package notwithstanding, but that's part of the entire package that I bought) since then. They have enough money.
