Per Schefter: Tom Brady not ready to accept court ruling today. Mulling options with legal team.

Brady was passive as hell and unsure of himself during that press conference because he was under the impression that the balls were all at least 2.0 psi under the limit, something that he could not possibly account for or explain. He knows he didn't do anything but if those numbers were correct then something must have happened so he was stepping on egg shells unsure of what to say. Of course it turned out those numbers were a complete fabrication released just for this reason.

Yeah, at that time Brady couldn't have known with 100% certainty that the balls were not tampered with. Imagine he comes out firing and then it turns out that McNally did tamper with the balls? Would've been a first-rate publicity disaster for him.

I really don't see how Brady could lose a defamation suit but, I have zero faith in the justice system to do the right thing. There's no way in hell that appeal ever should have been overturned.

It sounds good, but a lot of times defamation suits are thrown out relatively early in the process. One example was the main Saints player who was singled out for supposedly being the "ringleader" of a pay for bounty system, whose suspension had already been overturned.

Vilma had his case dismissed, but the judge wasn't exactly a big fan of Goodell's actions. Her comments include:

"While the Court is extremely disturbed by the fundamental lack of due process in Goodell's denying the players the identities of and the right to confront their accusers, that was substantially rectified later in the process," Berrigan wrote. "So while the process was initially procedurally flawed, the statements were ultimately found to have enough support to defeat the defamation claims."

I would support Brady if he retired with the statement " I will NOT accept a suspension for something that I did not do, and has been prosecuted with the weakest possible evidence. I am retiring from the NFL* as of this moment, and will instruct my lawyers to begin taking the steps of bringing a lawsuit against the NFL* for defamation."
That would be the greatest thing ever.

Say what?

I'm all for seeing Brady fight back, but certainly not at the cost of losing him to retirement. That's pretty much cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I could see some similar traits, no?

WSJ says Brady lost because the NFLPA gave Goodell dictatorial rights the last CBA. The question was did Goodell have those rights - yes or no? Court didn't care about anything else - including if the penalties were completely out of proportion to the alleged infraction.

There were other factors, but this was the crucial one.

Why the NFL Won its ‘Deflategate’ Appeal

Toms gotta keep fighting. Goodell will slip up.

Man what crappy news to start out the week lol. I had a feeling this would happen just sucks it finally did. As much as I want Brady to fight this BS until the end I have no faith in any courts. I want this to be over and done with. I think Brady should just come out and say he disagrees with the courts findings and at no time did he himself tamper with footballs nor did he instruct anyone else to. Serve the 4 games get it over and done with and come back and tear **** up.

I'm not sure what more people want from Brady at this point. According to Jeff Howe he's "pissed off" and wants to exhaust all options. According to Zolak he's "digging in". Obviously those vague statements don't definitively say what he and his legal team have planned until we find out from the horse's mouth, but what more can he say? "I'm pissed off and I didn't do anything"? That's obvious.

People who have already judged Brady for being a serial "cheetuh" have done so because they don't care about anything else. Anything he says doesn't matter to them.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Stay hidden in the grass, put out a feeler or two, and then POUNCE!

At this point this is just entertainment to me. Of course I want my QB on the field but I checked out emotionally with this nonsense awhile ago. That being said, give em hell tom.

What the hell are you talking about?

I said I wished Brady would finally speak out against Goodell and YOU responded to me about his silence being irrelevant in your mind.

Nothing I said had anything to do with the suspension arbitration court case or appeal, and YOU responded to it, so why would you bother even asking that?
You did not say any of that. You said he's been silent and it has done nothing but backfire. On the day appeals court ruled against him.
How bad it backfired? If it has nothing to do with the suspension you must be talking about PR. Whining to the media is not going to help his cause. He has maintained his innocence and acted accordingly. Holding press conferences to state his innocence is a grandstand move and THAT is the type of move that backfires.
There is virtually not a person on the planet other than those who are simply reacting to a patriot hatred that actually believes tom Brady did anything wrong so please explain how his actions have "backfired".

Good. Why should he accept punishment for an act he did not commit? 100% innocent
Take it all the way Tom.

Guilt or innocence doesn't matter now. Now it's about his union vs. his employer and the poorly bargained for CBA.

Yeah, I really don't understand what people think that would have changed.

Normally I would agree but in this case it genuinely isn't about the money. This isn't some impoverished family of 5 happy to take $750,000.
Wealth is irrelevant to law and what people "deserve".
