Seriously? I only joked in response to some negative comments. Otherwise I was posting news and expressed relief the suspension doesn't interfere with Pat/Jet games. Doubt any mods paying attention to my posts would see otherwise.

I usually post negative/mocking Jet comments. Don't be so sensitive man.

If I do get banned though, what's the appeals process?

just my own thoughts on today: has not bothered me as much as i thought it would. way less than the initial sh*tstorm over 2 years (!!!) ago.

what bothers me more is not the final decision but the sloppiness and carelessness in the majority opinion that has been noticed by some on twitter and the court's own dissenter in various statements and footnotes. how could a high court like this be so sloppy? you would think when you overturn another judge, you would have enough respect to produce a carefully written judgement.

The person that banned you will hear your appeal. In such appeal, the goalposts will be moved and the charges against you will be exaggerated. New information will be brought forth against you and you won't have the opportunity to appeal that new info. Also give me your cell phone and all private electronic info from you in case i need to find more evidence against you.

Timing is everything. You had a choice to wait until some of the emotion of the moment passed but you didn't.

I personally haven't had an issue.

If I were you, I'd hop a plane to Portland, ME, rent a car, drive to Scarborough, ME, stop at a gas station, buy a gas can and gas, drive to Goodell's home, burn the %$?!ing place down. All is forgiven.

Nice. See, now that was funny. Well done, and cheers! Regardless of whether this ends here or not, Pats still have to be favorites to win the division.

And if last season was a "revenge tour", I can only imagine how pissed TB12 will be after serving the suspension (if he does).

However, I destroyed the phone I posted with already. Not for evidentiary reasons or anything like that, it's just something I do occasionally.

There won't be a compromise from the NFL (GOD-ell).
They want Brady to sit for 4 games, period.

I really hope Garoppolo plays like a madman and be 4-0 when Brady comes back!

Garland will never even get a hearing. The Democrats will get control of the Senate after The Donald takes the GOP down to its worst defeat since 1964. Garland will withdraw his name out of deference to the new President . HRC will send up a nominee to the left of Ginsberg. In the unlikely event that the Court agrees to hear the Case, Brady will win.

Science (honest science, that is) exonerates Brady. Goodell, the league, a bunch of creepy lawyers, and the federal government make sure he's punished anyway.

I hope so! While the Court is the most undemocratic institution in the US, that Ginsburg, with her healthy authoritarian streak, is even considered the leftmost justice (well, maybe Sotomayor) is an indication of how far we are from the Warren court. I'm a lot less sanguine about Clinton than this, though.

I'm sure this has been discussed but the court has no right to file on Goodell's fact finding (ie not understanding the ideal gas law).

It does have a right to ensure that the appeal process was fair.

I'm no longer in a union but if this what an employer can do to you do you really even have a union?

Much like when people say "I can't believe (Media X) would report something so wrong", I'm a bit amazed that people have this vaulted respect for these entities. The mere fact that a judge politically leans one way they rule one way, if they lean the other way they rule that way should be all one needs to know about the judicial process. (noted that as bad as it is it probably still is the best for the frail emotional nature of man).

The Duke Rape case just recently hit its anniversary. During that fiasco media and a host of prosecutors and judges sat their blathering on TV that they were guilty despite evidence conspicuously mounting that the whole thing was fraud. No one lost their jobs except one guy who did one day in jail for it. That tells you all you need to know.
When a would be senator can so misbehave within the judicial process then get elected senator on those achivements, that tells you all you need to know.
When person X is accused but has a vault full of money and they are found not guilty while person Y who lives paycheck to paycheck is found guilty -- and the cases are essentially the same, it tells you all you need to know.

What you need to know is the judicial process isn't about justice, it's about who presents their coloring book with the coloring most precisely within the lines. Bottom line: The Goodell's of this world make the rules and those few that are aware of it most poignantly know that sitting in the middle and sucking on it is how the story ends. It just is what it is....

It's been discussed ad nauseum but it doesn't make it any less ridiculous. Arbitration is basically a Faustian bargain where some sucker agrees to give up accuracy and fairness for "expediency." Even that arrangement has its limits. Goodell stepped at least 10 paces over that line. Berman called him out on it. Two jackasses who finagled their way up to the CA2 just undid a righting of a wrong.
