When Brady Retires, are you done?

No. I'm sick of the NFL's shenanigans but I am more than a fan of Brady (he's not even my favorite player). I love him as much as the next guy but there are other players on the team that I want to continue having success as well and I will keep rooting for them. More than likely what will stop me is all the rule changes that make it unbearable to watch and they are tiptoeing that line now.

I don't care.....I will always watch

regardless of who is QB
regardless of who is coach
regardless of who is the owner
regardless of how corrupt it may appear to me

I survived Ben Drieth...........I will survive this too

I would probably stop watching if they moved away

I still don't understand. If you are supporting the team because of one player, you are not a fan of the team. It's like that weirdo Tim Tebow fan who used to come around here. I think you are a real fan of the team, so I'm still confused. Am I missing something?

Chances are, I've been a Patriots fan longer than most of the so-called diehards here. I've been through Fairbanks, Erhardt, Ron Meyer etc. So spare me.

But you guys are being dishonest by playing this card.

The very idea that we can't change opinions about a sport -- that is just plain silly. The NFL is now venturing into Pro Wrestling territory. I am supporting Brady because he has been wronged by aholes. And I'll watch while Brady is here to see him stick it to aholes. And when he's done, I'll be done with them and their friends ((Bob Kraft).

What is so difficult for you to understand?

Bailing when Brady is gone, to me, is the definition of a bandwagon fan.

If you're out because of the corrupt NFL then you're out now, not because you want to watch the rest of Brady's run.

call it what you want

it's only entertainment.....and if you're not entertained anymore, and it just pisses you off, why watch it?

I wouldn't judge anyone for giving it up.......I would pity them for how their spouses would instantly fill all that newly available time

so what? you getting all soft and gooey inside? you still watched after ben drieth and roughing the passer, you still watched after sullivan incompetence screwed the team time and time again...you watched while incompetence that was all the owners before Kraft.......so somehow incompetence is preferable to what has happened recently? It's just the league trying to put ankle weights on the pats

sound to me like you're just spoiled now........I think you'll not stop watching ever.......it hurts to admit, but this too shall pass

Spare you what? I asked for an explanation. And people have provided different ones, and now you have--you are in it for the retribution. Seems reasonable.

None

Yes it is

because it beats all other sunday options in the fall

the fact GM is still around..........yes, lots of people did and do
no it isn't a fair weather fan situation. as far as sunday and GM those are your personal choices. i try to buy the best car i can. when any company puts out a product that doesn't live up to my standards i move on to another. basically no matter what the nfl does you are on board. things will never get better with that attitude. the nfl loves you. you are there *****.

unlike the situation with GM where there are tons of alternatives to buying that brand, We have only one team to watch on Sundays........if you walk away now, it's fair weather.....if you had walked away a year ago, you could have a better point, but you didn't.......all the ******** is the same, you're just not liking the outcome.....so yeah, it's fair weather

It just floors me that you guy don't get it. It has turned into a farce.

It will continue in this fashion.

sorry no it isn't a fair weather fan situation. its you being a sucker and taking whatever the nfl gives you because you have nothing better to do. that's kinda sad. this isn't oh gee my team lost im out. its a corrupt league run by greedy pigs and they know people like you will keep coming back for more no matter what. the nfl laughs at people with your attitude. I'm embarrassed for you.

the cool thing is that if there are enough fair weather fans out there, it could get easier to get tickets

no....it's always been entertainment....you're the one who doesn't get it

there's nothing at stake.......it's just about the satisfaction of watching the local team win (if you want to call it local since none of the players are that)

people's expectation of principle and morals in professional sports is way out of whack

it is fair weather regardless of however else you want to paint it........completely fair weather.....and rather spineless at that

I like watching it because its entertainment and there nothing at stake.....

this place will be better when it shakes the likes of you out

you'd be gone anyway after a couple of down years

I'm a Patriots fan and always will be, for better or worse.

If I ditched my team every time the league or ownership thoroughly pissed me off or let me down I'd have ditched the soccer team I support two decades ago. But I can't help loving what I love.

Once TB and BB are gone the Pats will be far less enjoyable to watch than they are now.

Are we EVER likely to see a HC/QB combo comparable to them in our lifetime?

We've seen the best, and we saw the best FAIRLY trounce the competion, but now the NFL* is putting out a watered-down product that you cannot be sure is even a real competition.

Those of you who say they will keep watching may change your minds when you see the post-TB/BB Patriots.

Makes sense.....the majority of you weren't fans before Brady and Belichick, why would you be after them as well?

i ain't done with the team. League will never see another penny from me.

You're not curious at all to see how Garoppolo looks? I know I am.

I would be interested if Brady wasn't on the team or got hurt. I don't think I would enjoy watching a game knowing that Brady is on the sidelines for doing nothing wrong. I have been a diehard fan since the 80's and appreciate everything he has done to help turn the patriots into a perennial contender instead of the laughing stock of the league. Maybe I will change my mind between now and Sept but I doubt it.

No, there is such a thing as competition.

It's the kind of thing we like about sports.

I watch Olympic wrestling.

I dont watch pro wrestling.

Most honest people here will recognize the distinction.

Sounds to me like you don't believe in sports, but instead in something fuzzy called entertainment. I have no interest in the latter.

I'm halfway out the door. I dropped baseball cold turkey years ago even though I was a serious Red Sox fan and the NFL is next. I want to see Bellichick and the Pats get one more but when BB is gone I'm done with pro sports.
