The 2016 NFL Mock Draft Thread

I'm talking about their off the field stuff.

Nkemdiche had a single issue.......was with teammates and they were stupid.....I don't see it as a big issue

you're probably right about oakman though there's alot of holes in the story as well as the Baylor program itself being a factor......he may wind up doing 20 years like a former teammate, or it may get straightened out.....either way, the kid has had it rough in his life and he needs help

2016 Patriots Mock Draft - PatsPropaganda

Note, this is NOT mine :

60. Shon Coleman, OT
61. Austin Johnson, DT
91. Alex Collins,RB
96. DJ White, CB
196. Nelson Spruce, WR
204. Blake Martinez, LB
208. Dan Vitale, H Back
214. Keenan Reynolds, RB
221. Ben Braunecker, TE
243. Mike Thomas, WR
250. Joel Heath, DL

There's a nice writeup on each pick at the site.

I'd love to get Coleman and Johnson. I think both would start in 2017.

PFF (Ya Ya I know) did a 7 round mock with their writers acting as GMs here is what they had for NE first 4 picks

#60 traded
#61 Hassan Ridgeway, DT
#64 Kyle Murphy, OT
#91 Tyler Boyd, WR
#96 Alex Collins, RB

Boyd at 91 would be nice. Ridgeway's tendency to get injured worries me though and with the amount of depth at DT in this draft, why bother taking a chance on someone who gets injured often? I know it's not Dominique Easley/Gronk level of injuries, but still.

I really want Vernon Butler, who might slide to the 2nd but probably not to all the way to 60 :(

LATEST FROM DRAFTEK
60 CB Kendall Fuller
61 RB Devontae Booker
91 OC Jack Allen
96 ILB Tayler Matakevich

I needed a break from writing up Corners and Safeties, so I did one over at Fanspeak using CBS.
60. Sterling Shephard, WR
61. Chris Jones, DT

both guys I felt were too good to pass up and the CB position had been wiped out

91. Joe Haeg, OT
96. Jonathan Williams, RB

Again, CB did not have anyone I really loved. Looking back, this might have been the case to take a reach though.

196. James Bradberry, CB
204. Dan Vitale, FB/TE
208. Dominique Robertson, OT
214. Daryl Worley, CB
221. Moritz Boerhinger, WR

Loved my 6th round hall here. I got great value with the Bradberry and Robertson picks. Vitale can do a little of everything, Worley is a physical #2 type corner and Boerhinger is a lottery ticket that has impressive physical traits.

243. Victor Ochi, Edge
247. Justin Zimmer, DT

Ochi can come in and be a situational pass rusher and Zimmer is another physical freak that could develop into a good player.

I like your mock. Do you remember if Caleb Benenoch was already gone by 208? I watched a recent episode of Path to the Draft on the NFLN, and either Daniel Jeremiah or Bucky Brooks had him as a possibility to Seattle on Day 2, much earlier than I had heard him projected.

I know it's Draftek's and not yours, but that's awful. The only one I could rationalize at all is Booker,
but there should be good RBs still available at 91/96.

Like the Jones, Hargrave, Bradberry (although too low I suspect) and Hogan picks. I'd be amazed if Spriggs fell to the bottom of the 2nd and gobsmacked if Garrett fell to the 7th.

Doesn't Garrett have 4.6 speed? If true then that explains the slide in my book.

Seattle employs a zone blocking scheme similar to ours. Benenoch is a perfect fit in that scheme as a right tackle. Makes sense that Seattle would over draft him especially if they can get a beefy defensive tackle in the first round,

If spriggs makes it past Seattle in round one, and the Giants do not draft an ot in round one, then bb needs to trade up ahead of the Giants do we can draft spriggs.

Benenoch had horrible testing numbers for his agility. I won't completely discount him, but these numbers aren't pretty:

  • 8.15 SEC 3-cone
  • 5.11 SEC SS

He was, but I have Robertson rated higher anyway, so I was excited to get him. Benenoch is intriguing though.

Those are shockingly bad, especially for someone that ran a 4.98. Usually they tend to be universally athletic. He must be as stiff as a board.

I would like to know what happened there because that type of stiffness did not show up on tape.

Nice draft. Love the inclusion of Louis late; think he's one of the few big receivers with suddenness. Super underrated.

Good luck finding roster spots for that lot :)

Kidding aside, love the mock. The only pick that concerns me at all is Burns. Aside from that, I love every pick.
the ironic thing about that mock is that your 3rd CB, Keivarae Russell, might end up being the best of the three. As might your 3rd WR.

I like your thinking here ... its like taking players at the end of the draft that may or may not make it to Undrafted status! They are "priority" free agents that you are preventing other teams from getting during UDFA.
