Or what? You'll stamp your feet and call for BB's head? What is your exact plan to extract your pound of flesh? We're all shaking in anticipation.

Chandler Jones gone. Easley gone.

Two of the best pass rushers this team had.

So pardon me for wanting to know a good reason for Easley being let go when the Dline guys they picked up are on one year deals and you have enough FAs to deal with next year. The '17 team will be vastly different than this one.

Lighten up, Sally.

I am not going to jump on the " I never liked the pick anyway " angle... I actually loved the pick. Twice last over the last 2 season I was ' ' that close to buying an Easley jersey.

However, I am not totally shocked or dumbfounded. Nor do I question Bill and no not because I have Patriots Air Force Ones on. Easley in college has been described as someone who wasn't totally into it. I say into meaning: Student of the game, putting in time in the film room, loves the sport. He was said to be an immature locker room presence and generally just a big goofy kid with insane athletic ability. That always struck me as odd, considering how much BB values the football junkies.

I understood that this was a risky pick that may have a bad ending considering it was a 1st round pick. Not just because of the Knees but because of all the things mentioned. I am not going to deny it's a loss, but lets not go overboard and say this team can't preform without him, because they can and have. It's a loss in a sense that the front 7 would have flat out terrorizing for years to come had he stuck with brown (possibly flowers, grissom, rufus Johnson etc.) While Knighton, Kearse and Long give us great hope for the next coming season, none of them offer what Easley did offer for a short time and would have offered if it worked out. He was an incredible talent, to this day I have never seen a player EVER get off the line with such violence and speed. If he goes to the right place and stays healthy , it's going to be a hard pill to swallow.

We all know who runs this ship though. If there is any silver lining in all this, is that BB is not playing around at all. It's a clear message to all on the team, and any potential incoming players.

Yeeikes.

Really surprised to read this.

Christ didn't PM go to Germany to get treatment for his giraffe neck?
A friend of mine went to Germany for an experimental Stem Cell surgery after a serious snowboarding accident. Germany in particular is way ahead of the United States in certain fields of medecine now due to the restrictive regulations pushed by conservative law-makers and politicians in this country. It's a real shame. Kobe Bryant is rumored to have done some work on his knee in Germany too.

This is Richard Seymor was traded-level of surprise.

He could've been great and put us over the top, but he wasn't missed last 2 season, if we are being honest to ourselves, that may made it easier for BB to pull the plug.

Exactly. The hysteria of this is a little shocking to me. It's not like it's Hightower or Collins or Butler we are losing here.

Yes- Euro NHLers seek treatment in da Deutschland as well.

Just to add some misery for us all to marinate in... here's what "could have been" for draft picks at that position with the luxury of hindsight;

Kelvin Benjamin (with a small trade to move up 1)
Bradley Roby
Jordan Matthews
Stephon Tuitt
Jace Amaro
Davante Adams
Jeremy Hill
Carlos Hyde
Kony Ealy
Allen Robinson

Other than the early 1st round picks 1-20 or so, 2014 was a pretty weak draft class overall. That could have been one of the factors in BB rolling the dice on DE

Wow, some pretty nice names on that list. All would have looked pretty good in a Pat uniform!!!

I still think that post-Pioli draft a have been very good. In fact, the 2014 championship depends on the recent talent the team drafted.

But this pick was obviously not very good (as was much of the draft for them). Here's hoping the n'est few will bring in better results.

I still don't understand why people within the Patriots talk to Volin, but that article explains so much.

Taking a risk on a player with knee issues but with good potential is acceptable.
But, NOT in the 1st round. 1st round you take someone whose risk is minimal.

He was released because of brain issues. Was last year's injury even a knee?
