Patriots Release Dominique Easley

Well, that's that. He's either injured to the point where the team doesn't think he can ever return to form or he did something behind the scenes. Either way, the guy was talented when healthy but could not stay on the field. Very big draft bust. Further, who is going to be pushing the pocket this season at DT? This pretty much makes DL one of the team's top needs again.

Why not at least try to trade him?

It should be something with criminal implications, so BB couldn't simply pass the problem to someone else.

I can't think about other possibilities, maybe he quit, but then the decision would have come from his side.

If it's doping he is still trade-able, it would worth the gamble for some other team. The same is true for behavior issues, locker room, etc..

Well i need to say the Pats project to have a worse chance to win it all now than they did 24 hours ago.

Also DT has jumped up to a big concern and with lack of cap room will need to be addressed in the draft high now for sure.

WHAT THE F*CK!?

this is what happens when you draft guys with injury histories....sometimes it works, a la Gronkowski, but more often than not, it falls flat on its face - Easley, Dowling, etc....Pats always looking in the discount draft bins at bldg 19 - atta boy Krafty Bob!

Derpity derp derpy doo.

quick someone check easley's instaface, or twitface. maybe there is a clue there

Easley's knees are in pretty bad shape, and there's not a lot of room for improvement, per source. Still stunning timing for his release. per Howe

If he did something stupid... then he picked the wrong team to do it with.

More often than not, when you draft anybody it falls on its face. Such is the nature of the NFL draft. Put Curtis Martin alongside Gronk as one that that worked out very well.

Still doesn't seem like it explains enough, unless there is an injury settlement we don't know about. Even then unless he literally can't suit up anymore, I dunno why you'd do this now.
