Blount Re-Signs with Patriots

I'm pretty indifferent to Blount, but for $1M + incentives I'll take him. Let's see if he makes the final 53.

Can Brown identify the man to block? All I remember is that God damn it, Brown! video from the choker. Then again the forehead wouldn't hesitate to blame someone else so maybe it wasn't Brown's fault.

My recollection of that video was that Brown was successfully protecting the pocket. When PEDton panicked and ran to the right (as he was blaming Brown) he opened himself up to be tackled.

Like the move. I like our RBs. Yeah we didn't get a Forte ect but if Lewis can stay healthy...nothing can stop this O with those 2 at TE and the GOAT under center.

And now our DL with those LBs and CBs...this team will be scary good as long as we stay relatively healthy. Injuries will happen..just hopefully not to key players or not long injuries.

No, he's not. Stop doing analysis only via statline.

Also, even just looking at statlines, Vereen had 59 receptions on 81 targets, compared to 40 on 54 for White. So you're not talking "barely half as much" with regards to targets.

When i said barely half as much i was references games featured in. I thought i made that clear. White does have more than just have the targets but perhaps part of that is he gets open more often?

Also i brought up the stat like cause that is easy to understand and look at. Looking at the tape I also think White is a bit better as a pass catching back. He looks to be a bit more shifty though he does not have as much straight line speed. Vereen could have had much better numbers with the patriots if he was able to catch more of those big yardage wheel routes he dropped here. I value the shiftiness more though and think he just looked better in general.

I'm kind of surprised at all the Blount euphoria. I think at this point he's very pedestrian.

ALL running backs are pedestrian. :)

Well, maybe not Sam Cunningham ...

We know what Blount brings to the table. Safe move. I don't mind it at all.
Blount offers main back, between the tackles, running ability.

If Dion Lewis comes back healthy, as out big play/receiving back we're pretty much set.
Blount's main weakness, for his size, he doesn't grind the short yardage distance and win all that often.
But he gives surprising speed at that size.

NO roster spot is safe at RB, but at least we know what we're getting with Blount.

Can anyone really say they're that impressed with LG?

People forget just 2 seasons ago Blount led the league in yards after contact him and Lynch.
Id love to see Blount come in with a huge boulder on his shoulder and run thru brick walls again.

That being said im all for drafting 2 backs Marshall and a bruiser preferably.

Is Develin a lock?

I don't know if I'd use the term "lock," but he'd have to be around 75-80 percent, for me.

I think that's simply due to offering a bit of a unique skill set that the others don't possess, while also having the system down pat from previous experience.

He ran for over 700 yards last year, which is not terrible for a team that had a running back by committee approach and a pass happy offense. With more touches he would have easily gotten 1000 yards.

700 yards in 11 games

He's ok as part of a committee. I don't quite get Belichick's love for him, frankly.

You just answered your own question.

Look at his production and time spent on the field and what they have paid him.

The love is obvious.
