John Carlson RIP .

Not the current player but a former Pats and Vikings announcer.

Sorry to see this news, I was a fan of John's when he worked with Jon Morris for a couple of those non-Gil-and-Gino radio years. He had a funny way of doing the job, with a dry wit I enjoyed a lot, especially with his "Carlson picks 'em" segments on WEEI (590 AM). Also as described in his obit, he was a Brigadier General and extraordinary leader in the National Guard who dedicated 43 years of his life to serving and protecting us and our freedoms. RIP and respect and prayers to his family and friends.

On a happier note, glad to make this tribute to a good man and to my good Patriots-related memories that I have my 500th contribution to our forum!!

RIP General Carlson. Thanks for your service to this country and to Pats Nation.

RIP Mr. Carlson

Wow, what a life he had. God bless him and his family.

Wasn't he also the first voice of the New England Whalers?
