I'd like to take a moment to personally congratulate Prufrock on a terribly literate screen name.

Frickin SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: No way Randy Moss makes this team.

No way he makes the team? How can you say that with such certainty?

BTW above all else I'm thrilled to have Troy back. :)

WooHoo!
Glad to have it finalized

Gaffney was so great in the playoffs, I hope they find a spot for him. Even though Caldwell was their best WR last season, I'd rather they cut bait with him. It's possible they'll carry 6 (Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Gaffney, Caldwell, Brown), place Jackson on PUP, and cut Washington.

Washington is making the team...

Moss

Stallworth

Welker

Washington

Brown

Caldwell/Gaffney- Id say Gaffney right now..

Chad Jackson PUP

Go Troy.

Awesome.

Moss
Stallworth
Welker
Brown
Gaffney
Jackson (I think he'll go through a full training camp, we might carry only two QB's (Brady and Cassel) and have Testeverde stay on as an assistant, thereby emptying the roster spot needed for 6 receivers)

Traded for 5th rounder to Titans- Caldwell

Cut- Washington

:D I love you Troy! You're the ultimate role model as a person, leader, and athlete!

we all love TB but let's face facts here. Which DB and which WR are we willing to cut to give Troy a spot?

I'm with you, I love Troy Brown and I love what he's done for this team but it goes further than who doesn't make the 53, it will come down to who doesn't make the active 45.

IMO Belichick has too much respect for Troy Brown to have him on the inactive list every week and I'm assuming he was given a little assurance of that before re-signing.

We're having a tough time deciding which and how many WRs make the team. In years past though, it's been VERY rare for the Pats to have more than 5 active WRs, if not just 4. Troy does bring versatility with his ability to play defense but I certainly hope we never sit DBs so Troy can have a spot. It will come down to WRs. Who's it going to be? If healthy, Stallworth, Moss and Welker are locks. Between Caldwell, Gaffney and Washington, whoever makes the team, it's hard to have any of those guys as consistant inactives. Then if Jackson is indeed PUPed, what do we do when he's ready? If the WR corp is healthy, he wouldn't be able to even sniff the active 45, so we might as well IR him Day 1.

Again, it's nice that Troy is back but it definately does make things very complicated IMO.

I guess you'll have to cut someone on special teams too! ;)

Just to clarify - just because Troy provides depth at multiple positions doesn't mean he takes up multiple roster spots. He only takes up one - hence that makes him more valuable than many other players as he takes up one roster spot but provides the depth of three players.

I expect we'll carry 6 WRs... our 5th & 6th WRs will likely be role players who contribute on special teams. That sounds a lot like Troy to me.

It's an old joke, Bo... actually, among other players, it started with people who said it about Troy. It's always said with a great deal of certainty, as tradition dictates.

Is TB a better XY WR than Gaffney/Caldwell? Since they both started over him I say it's hard to make that case. Is he better than Moss/Welker in the slot? I say no.

Is TB a better CB than Scott/James/Jackson/Richardson/Andrews/Williams?

Not the 1st 2. Maybe as effective as the rest considering his PR capability. But he can't be a gunner or play Safety like Andrews.

TB is like Linus's Security Blanket...do we really need it or is it a luxury?

I think it comes down to him being the best choice as KR on the team. Hobbs and Maroney are probably better but we can't risk them for this duty except for extreme circumstances. If he can consistently get us over the 30 on KOs, I say he is in.

Joke! d%#*!@t, now I've got to re-do my roster all over again.

Nice to have some actual news.
Kidding aside, Excellent news.

And let's remember, Cadwell, Gaffney and Washington are ALL on the bubble.
All 3.

Welcome back number 80 My all time favorite receiver on the team!
The Definition of team player a true jack of all trades who excels wherever he plays.
I feel more confident now as ever with this team.
