Possible Patriots Draft Target, WR Braxton Miller

The question is: Will Miller duplicate the last QB from Ohio that the Pats drafted and converted to wide receiver (Julian Edelman) or the last wide receiver that the Pats drafted from Ohio State (Terry Glenn)?

Name me some players that got drafted after Harmon that were worth taking over him. I'll wait.

That's not really fair. It's what you could've done with that pick, or even the Logan Ryan pick that was just ahead of it(still could've likely gotten Ryan where they took Harmon). That 3rd round included J. Reed(6 picks ahead) who I was extremely high on, Keenan Allen. Mathieu and Kelce went probably too early, but still could've made some moves to get there.

Behind Harmon was Bakhtiari, S. Thomas, Devin Taylor, Kenny Stills(although I don't think he'd be a good fit here). There's definitely not much too like, but I still like to look at what was around him. Even moving that pick for a 2nd or 3rd rounder in 2014 could've yielded excellent value.

I was about to say "I don't remember exactly who was behind Harmon but there had to be a lot of players that could have been taken above him right?"

My god that draft was awful. Ricky Wagner and Latavius Murray were the only two other players that you could argue above Harmon. Literally everyone else are depth player.
Alex Okafor says Hi.

Why would they have drafted Reed or Kelce? and don't say hernandez because the draft took place before that stuff happened.

Mathieu and Allen would have meant trading up because they were picked ahead of Ryan. Wasn't a draft to trade up in unless a team loved that player.

Mathieu and Allen could only be argued if we are talking Dobson. Which we are not.

While Glenn's early career injury/toughness situation has been well documented, I don't think any of us would be complaining should we draft another WR who puts up 800+ yards in 4 of his 5 first seasons here--including reception totals of 90 (rookie year), 69, and 79.

As a matter of fact, most of us would likely jump for joy should a draft pick like that pan out at WR.

I like Miller's athleticism and versatility. He ticks all the boxes as far as size, 6'1, speed 4.4 40, 3 cone 6.65, etc. He could play ST and work his way into the receiving mix.

Obviously the hope is Miller could develop into an explosive X-receiver with good size. He is new to the position, but as a former QB hopefully he can pick up the Pats offense a lot faster. Seems like he could be a worthwhile gamble using one of our non-tradeable comp picks.

You think he'll somehow be around when we hit our comp picks (round 3 and below)? I don't.

As a big Buckeye fan, I think Miller has all of the measurables that we usually look for, and is obviously very talented, but I'm a bit leery due to the fact that he's very raw and unfamiliar with the position.

I think we can afford to take shots with guys like him every year (see: many of the failed 2nd/3rd round picks), but I'd still be rather surprised if Belichick actually pulls the trigger on Braxton Miller.
