OT: Kaepernick met with Elway

Denver is lucky they fluked their way to a SB win last season (by far the flukiest run in NFL history, and totally undeserved) because they won't be contenders any time in the near future.

We will have to disagree. Nearly unstoppable? Come on. I was at that game they scored because of out turnovers not kaeoernicks running.

He threw 4 TDs in the pouring rain, two of them being down filed bombs. Turnovers mean little, if your offense doesn't cash in.

They were not downfield bombs. The one to Crabtree was an 8 yard hitch that he took to the house.
Kaepernick completed 56% of his passes and threw for 221 yards, and ran for 28 (Your argument was his running made him 'unstoppable'. The Patriots turned the ball over 4 times. SF started 5 drives inside NE territory, at the 38,34,27,5 and 3.

I guess that game is one of the best you have to show Kaepernick 'dominated' but that's why he didn't.

My argument of his running had nill to do with that particular game in question. That was never what I was getting at. All I meant was that he had a very good game against NE, and he did.

As for his running, go rewatch most of his 2013 games, heck even Super Bowl 47 and you can see how his legs had a large impact.

You don't like Kaepernick and think he's "terrible"...that's swell. But that doesn't change my opinion that he is a very capable player in this league.

Since his first year starting, Kaepernick's passer rating has steadily decreased. Also, his sack rate per pass attempt has steadily increased, while the number of times he ran (per year) has no clear pattern.

In other words, what made him the most successful wasn't his running, but his passing. Once the other coordinators figured him out, he didn't have the tools to adapt and improve. He just gets confused, and takes more and more sacks as a result. Having a career completion percentage below 60% in the NFL these days is below average. Mark Sanchez, in Philadelphia, playing in an offense similar to what Kaepernick ran with the 49ers, has a completion percentage 4 points above Kaepernick's.

Then you should be more clear, because this was your post that I responded to

Except that's not true, considering his legs made him nearly unstoppable to opposing defenses those two seasons.

Maybe go rewatch the SF/Pats game in 2013, where he torched us

He is a good runner for a QB. He has had some very nice game. He didn't 'dominate' anyone. In the 2013 season he rushed for over 60 yards 2 times. He rushed for 25 yards or less in 10 of his 16 games. That is not 'dominating' and he threw for 3200 yards all season, with 10 games under 200 and only 2 300+ games all season. His team, while being #3 in scoring D, #5 in yardage D and #6 in takeaways was 11th in scoring while 5 of those TDs came on turnovers.
There is nothing in the numbers, or that the eyes saw that says Kaepernick was 'dominant'. He made some exciting plays. That is not the measure of a dominating QB.

As of now, for his career he completes less than 60% of his passes, has only 56TD passes in 47 starts and passed for barely 200 yards per start. Last year, he lead his team to 109 points in 8 games, half of which we 7 points or less. Then he was beaten out for his job by Blaine freaking Gabbart.
This guy stinks, I don't know how that is even debatable.

You are free to have that opinion, but there is just nothing that backs it up.

Huh? Two NFC Championship games and a near Super Bowl win is quite enough to back up his play.

The Donks competed with freaking Jake Plummer and Danny Kannel. I still have nightmares about that bootleg play that Plummer used to do that NOBODY on the Pats defense seemed to expect. Over and over.

Kapernick will be an upgrade over Manning and may be better than BO.

That's not really fair, the team who wins always earns it. The Broncos season was lucky but their terrible qb play doesn't mean they didn't earn their ring
