OT: Kaepernick met with Elway

Denver with Kap is the 49ers with Harbaugh and that D. Don't ask him to do any more than he's capable of, rely on your D and the run game and the Broncos will be just fine.

I don't think denver's running game is great.

Kaepernick is an upgrade over Manning. <-- serious post

With kap, I think they could be contenders again :(

It can still be restructured.
Why would he?? Unless he gets more in the long run, there is little incentive to take less by restructuring......

Apparently he wants out of SF badly, conveniently for Denver.

It was good enough to compliment their Super Bowl carrying D so clearly, it's good enough.

But that type of formula won't last. teams like that always win 1 super bowl and then disappear. how many teams with average quarterbacks, good running game, and a really strong D win multiple super bowls? Baltimore in 2000 and TB in 2002 were one and dones.

besides, denver in 2015 was not unbeatable. they were 12-4 and almost lost to Pitt and NE in the playoffs. they dominated few teams on the scoreboard. they absolutely need a QB to come in and at least duplicate what Osweiller did. if peyton played all of 2015 they would have been 8-8.

I don't disagree Denver had a lot of things fall their way but realistically, so does every Super Bowl winner. I'm also in the camp believing the Chiefs and Raiders are going to cause Denver major headaches in the AFC West but still, that's not to say people should write Denver off. They have the greatest HFA in the NFL and they still have the skeleton of a very good team. That shouldn't be underestimated.

Once people figured out how to defend Kaepernick, he regressed big time. He really is a very limited QB. The way he continued to regress from year to year, I am not 100% sure he can beat out Sanchez.

Leaving a steaming ****pile of a team with an arrogant HC to land on a team that just won the SB is incentive.

Can players and teams agree to SHORTEN contracts? Say for example, Den trades a late pick for Kaep, who restructures to a 1-2 year deal to use Denver to rebuild his value and hit the FA market quick for a big cash-in.

Sideways move for Denver ..... The team is not the same as last year and the middle of their front 7 has turned over

Their defense will be more like 2013/2014......giving up 30ppg in the road

And I am confident the pats are going to in there next season and stomp the **** out of them

There you go Colin, don't take no pay cut to go to Denver.

So this tells me Kaepernick is not really in love with going to Denver...

Im sure Denver will try to make it up with incentives

Cannot remember the last time a deal was in place, depending on contract extension talks and failed

Not enough to sacrifice 4.9 million dead Presidents............

We could take Sanders off their hands that could get it done or the shiny new Agreement they gave their back.
If Elway is a shrewd businessman he would trade his back to Miami.

How is Denver's cap situation though? Can they even afford to take Kaepernick's salary?

EDIT: I researched it - they've only got around $1 million in cap space. They would have to make a move like trading or releasing someone (likely tackle Ryan Clady) but would probably still need Kaepernick to take a pay cut to be able to afford him even after making that move. And then they would still be up against the cap big time.

Yup. Maybe they could ask the Jets for advice.

They can take a class together... Intro to How to Ask Your QB to Play For A Lot Less Money Because You Don't Have Any Money.
