I just hope EJ doesnt see the field in a crucial moment.
Like 3rd and 8 and EJ Biggers trots out to cover Mike Wallace in the AFC championship.

I'm more fascinated by the name etymology of Pats signings rather than player quality.

I'll wait until I see how he looks in camp but a cursory glance at his career so far suggests camp competition. Biggers has some speed. Special teamer maybe?

I go to way too many camp practices every season because I can. Last summer I posted, amid the "Revis is GONE!!! Oh NOES!!!" hysteria, that Malcolm Butler looked more than able at the #1 in practices...a fact later borne out by his actual in season play.I also played up the play of Roberts in camp as he clearly pushed Logan Ryan for reps. In the first preseason game, one I attended,Roberts had 5 tackles, tied for 3rd on the D in that game and was around the ball every play. Ryan, by contrast, had 2 tackles and was beaten badly more than once. So yeah, there sure is a reason to have some optimism in the six foot, long armed Roberts. Just watching him compete with the others in the backfield makes that clear...to anyone who ACTUALLY takes the time to attend.

So, Biggers? We'll SEE when the June and July camps start up. Roberts SHOULD make it back from a broken wrist without any discernible effect on his speed or tackling ability, and THAT really intrigues me.

But enough of this pro Patriot stuff...back to "KNOWER OF THINGS!!!!" time with the expert panel of fans who never actually see anything in person.

It still confuses me why they were so quick to put Roberts on IR. He looked really good during the preseason and has all the physical attributes that you would want in a CB. I didn't see any moves made after that IR designation that made me say, "oh... okay... that's what it was for", either. Would have loved for him to be able to cut his teeth in that defense last year and word only a month or two later was that he was already back at the facility working out. Oh well. Hopefully we can see what the kid brings to the table this year.

I think he had a wrist injury and would have been out for a while. The Patriots did not want to hold a roster spot for him. He did look like he had potential.

I think Roberts and Brown could be the answers...this Biggers fellow...meh

There was a press conference where Bill explained the signing:

"I meant no harm, I truly did not, but I had to get Biggers, so Biggers I got. I Biggered my secondary, I Biggered Special Teams, I Biggered the CB, I Biggered LB. I Biggered my D and sent my boys out, to the AFC North, the Central, the South. I Biggered those teams and just kept on figgering, nothing except Goodell could stop me from winnering.

And then the NFL got mad. They got terribly mad. So Bill yelled at them "Now listen here, Dad! All you do is yap-yap and say, ‘Bad! Bad! Bad! Bad!’ Well, I have my rights, sir, and I’m telling you. I intend to go on doing just what i do! And, for your information, you Lummox, I’m figgering on biggering

and BIGGERING

and BIGGERING

and BIGGERING!"

He replaces Tavon Wilson (A 2nd-rounder). Not likely the Patriots has upgraded his replacement....

Brandon Boykin just signed for the veteran minimim with the Panthers. Has had proven success as a slot CB and some outside CB experience. Curious on the Pats evaluation of Biggers vs Boykin. Little puzzling.

At the same money, Brandon Boykin >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Biggers.

Bill just allowed a tremendous, tremendous opportunity slip right through his fingers.

I wanted Boykin I honestly didnt know he was avaialble and for so little I know Carolina is beautiful but league minumum wow

Yeah, Boykin would have been the better depth option. Biggers is a waste of time and I'd be shocked (and disappointed, given that means the depth doesn't improve) if he even makes it out of camp. If he sees any meaningful snaps on defense after that, there is something seriously, seriously wrong.

Yes a tremendous opportunity for a JAG. And he wanted to go Carolina, turned down $2m from another team to go there.
