I am old enough, and enough of a hockey fan to say I enjoyed some of the greats. (I was a Canadians fan however, having grown up on the east coast of Canada). Got the US stations out of Bangor, so got a steady stream of Bruins, Celtics and Pats. Orr was one of my favorite non Habs players, he could dominate a game like no other.

I also enjoyed watching Don Sweeney, only because I had the privilege of playing in the same minor leagues as him when I was younger.

Orr was dominant in his sport and as humble and as great a man away from his sport. That's why I compared Tom Brady to Orr in another post. He's the closest star that I've seen in that regard.

I used to go to Montreal for a weekend with a group of friends to see the Bruins play in the 70's. With the exception of the drunken fools that came along with us it was a great experience.

Sometimes I'll watch clips from the game on my tablet while on the train and the end will literally bring tears to my eyes. I then realize how stpuid this must look to others seeing a grown man cry on the train for what appears to be no explicable reason. I'll tell ya, I asbolutely NEEDED title #4 and it's such a blessing to get it. No. 4 changes everything for me. Sure, five would be a 'nice to have', but I needed number 4. Imagine how much more devastating this year would have been had we not had no. 4 already? Even though the end was still tough, all anyone had to do was think to last year to feel greatful.

I don't think there's been a defense in the last 2 years that could "solve" Tom Brady for an entire 4 quarters. Even last years AFC CG, we drove down into Denver's territory 3 times in the 4th quarter but unfortunately came up short (for non Tom Brady reasons).

That 4th quarter was one of greatest quarters in football history, considering it was a SB game and trailing by 10, probably in the top 3.

The 3rd and 14 was the play of the game, and again one of the greatest plays ever, it was cool Brady again, just like in his first SB against the Rams with 55 seconds left.

The TD pass to Amendola is one of Bradys most underrated passes in that game. At a point in the video I paused the gameplay at about the midway point of the ball between Brady and DA. There were 9 Seahawks in the frame (camera angle was close up from endzone). He really had to pinpoint the ball on that one.

...Missed Orr because I didn't follow hockey. Heard he's a great guy too.
Then you missed-out on some pretty exciting times. As a single-digit midget and pre-teen during the
heyday of the Big Bad Bruins, I can testify that they were as big as any Boston team before or since.
It's a pity that they didn't at least double their Cup totals during that era, were it not for Ken Dryden
& the feckin WHA.

Sucks that it is branded a controversial play and is known as the "Edelman Rule"

Malcom, Go!!

Butler saved Brady's legacy. Imagine if the Seahawks score on that play and win the game. Brady's heroics would be forgotten and the Brady haters would have ammo up the ying yang.
It delights the senses (anyone know what movie that's from?), to imagine the defense holding the lead in those 2 lost super bowls and Brady being 6-0. And even more to imagine the Pats holding that lead against the Colts in 06 and crushing Chicago in the SB to be 7-0.

because I can. A flash drive is such a beautiful thing. So much enjoyment just a few clicks away.

But seriously, every time I watch that game I am truly amazed. I imagine it as if I was watching Michelangelo paint the Sistine Chapel. Seriously. Brady was so methodical. So precise in the 4th qtr. I laugh when people make claims that he was dinking and dunking or picking apart the Hawks cuz they were playing prevent D. But what they don't realize is that how quickly Brady interpreted what the D was doing in that game. He knew where to throw the ball and who would be open before the D even knew what they were doing. Got to the line, looked at the D, pointed out the D, made adjustments, got the ball, look at the D, found the receiver and put the ball on the numbers. 3 yards, 5 yards.....didn't matter. He picked apart the best D in the league over the past 3 seasons. And made it look easy. Ive said it once and I will say it again. My old man always tells how much of a privilege it was to watch Bobby Orr play hockey. Didn't really understand that until I watch Brady at QB.

Man I need some real football. More then 5 months away and Ive got a serious itch for some.

The terms "prevent D," and "garbage time" are some of the most overused as it pertains to the NFL.

It was a 24-14 game for the world championship, and Tom Brady as the opposing QB. If anyone is naive enough to bring up the "prevent defense" argument, that's on them, but it wouldn't make sense.

Every time I see that throw I wonder how many inches away the Seahawks were from deflecting that ball.
