The 2016 NFL Mock Draft Thread

2/60 Leonte Carroo WR Rutgers

2/61 Joe Haeg OT North Dakota State

3 Parker Ehinger OG Cincinnatti

3 Jayron Kearse SS Clemson

6/200 Luke Rhodes ILB William @ Mary

6.214 Max McCaffrey WR Duke

6/221 R.J. Williamson SS Michjgan State

7/251 Alex Huttel G/C Bowling Green

7/255 Keenan Reynolds RB Navy

I would be happy with this draft. I have been thinking that bb loves safeties and with all those 6th rounders, he could draft a couple.

I love the Reynolds pick. In our offense Reynolds could be a huge playmaker.

Trade #91 to the 49ers for #105, #145, and #178

#105 Harlan Miller, DB, SE Louisiana
#145 Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia
#178 Blake Martinez, LB, Stanford
#196 Joe Dahl, OL, Washington State

Looks like alot of solid depth and you hit the positions I believe we will address.
Plus you drafted my binky Garett.

I drafted a lot of players that could have been UDFA at the bottom of the draft.

If only the real draft was like first-pick.com :)

Le'Raven Clark OT
Jonathan Williams RB
Hassan Ridgeway DT
Tyler Higbee TE
Bronson Kaufusi DE
Scooby Wright III ILB
Harlan Miller CB
Charone Peake WR
Joe Dahl OG
Kevin Hogan QB
Deiondre Hall CB
Mike Thomas WR
Stephen Weatherly DE
Daniel Braverman WR
Cassanova Mckinzy Ilb

Lol, I'll take it :)

If Jordan Payton were available at 96, would you take him ahead of Garrett?

I like the Ridgeway pick - think he's an underrated DT in this draft. I think that's a little high for Garrett and Hawkins personally but I can see Hawkins being the pick if all other DTs have gone. Like the Marshall pick.

I like that Ridgeway has a background of playing with Malcolm Brown.

And his tape isn't much worse. Has some conditioning issues though. Perhaps not an every down player.

I went strictly by CBS' rankings. Personally I think they're a little suspect.Keanu Neal at 226? Puh-lease.

There are two trades. There was only one 2nd rounder I liked that didn't require a trade up so traded down from 61. Also traded down from 91.

1. Traded 61 plus a 6th for an early-mid 3rd and 4th.

2. Traded 91 for 4th, 5th and 6th.

Both trades are similar to trades made last year.

Rnd 2(60) - Le'Raven Clark, OT, Texas Tech

If Shon Coleman is available there, that would be a tough choice.

Rnd 2 (61) - Trade

Rnd 3 (from 61 trade) - Jordan Howard, RB, Indiana

Jonathan Williams is better but I think Howard might be the pick. No fumbles.

Rnd 3 (91) - Trade for 4th, 5th and 6th

Rnd 3 (96) - Hassan Ridgeway, DT, Texas

I'm guessing Pot Roast will be a one year acquisition if we get him. Ridgeway is a good run stopper that can take on double teams. Wouldn't complain about Jihad Ward in this spot either.

Rnd 4(From 61 Trade) - Cyrus Jones, Alabama

Tough one this. Was very tempted by Eric Murray here too. Either/or depending on the type of CB they're looking for.

Rnd 4 (From 91 Trade)
- Connor McGovern, OL, Missouri

The most athletic non- first round OL in the draft. Can play OG or OT. Worked out by Dante.

Rnd 5 (From 91 Trade)
- Willie Henry, DT, Michigan

Backup for Easley.

Rnd 6 (From 91 Trade) -
Justin Simmons, S, Boston College

Harmon insurance for 2017 and beyond. If Bradberry was available here, I'd seriously consider him too if safety wasn't felt a need.

Rnd 6 (191)
- Traded

Rnd 6 (204) - Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford

Smart QB alert.

Rnd 6 (208)
- Nick Kwiatkowski, LB, West Virginia

Another smart leader. Special teamer and competition for Freeney.

Rnd 6 (214)
- Stephen Weatherly, EDGE, Vanderbilt

Poor mans Chandler Jones.

Rnd 6 (221)
- Chris Moore, WR, Cincinnati

Genuine deep threat receiver. I'm not sure how the draft and whether we have a WR need match up. Moore is a decent late round option. We won't lose much if he doesn't make the team.

Rnd 7 (243)
- Chris Swain, FB, Navy

Impressive blocker and short yardsge guy. Will give Develin a real run for his money.

Rnd 7 (250)
- Keenan Reynolds, WR, Navy

The future Julian Edelman? This pick is a lock right?

IF Patriots wants a chance to get the same deal with Reynolds as they have with Cardona, they'll have to give up some capital as they did a year ago. I doubt the Navy agreeing to this, if Patriots only use a 7th. Show commitment and use a 5th or something.

That's pretty bizarre. Not a lot of thought going on there.
WEEI really seems to be hanging their hat on the disclaimer at the beginning of each profile:

"WEEI.com will continue to offer daily insight and analysis regarding options that may be available to the Patriots when it comes to the 2016 NFL draft. Here is one in a series of profiles of players who could be on the board when it’s time for the Patriots to make a selection. Although the Patriots do not own a first-round pick due to their punishment for Deflategate — and there are restrictions on their ability to trade up — we will include likely first-round picks in case someone slips or the Pats are able to swing a deal."

They should really be taking a more realistic approach to the profiles.

If Reynolds is Belichick's favorite binkie (I suspect he is), he might draft him with the 60th pick
even though he is rated as an UDFA.

The only sure things about the Patriot's draft is that they will trade down to fill in the gap between the
3rd and 6th rounds and will draft Keenan Reynolds higher than he is projected. I hope they don't
lose too much trade value-wise when they trade down.

60 - OT Le'Raven Clark ..... because he's athletic and we have a need
61 - OLB Joshua Perry ..... because we need to resign Collins and Hightower, but you never know
91 - DT Hassan Ridgeway or Maliek Collins ..... one of them will be there, otherwise feel free to trade the pick
96 - RB CJ Prosise ..... well rounded (played safety and WR before RB) would seem to fit with what's done here......and we have a need.

if we could have it go this way, I would not care about having picks in round 4 or 5 unless they want to consildate later picks to move up into rd 5.....I don't think there's going to be enough spots on the roster anyway beyond these 4

EDIT: I just watched more of Josh Perry.......some games he shows little to know awareness or instinct out there......I think I need to look at some other options....Calhoun was mentioned

Getting a feeling that Reynolds will be the annual Patriots "Reach" (using that loosely).

New mock without getting my #1 binkie to make it more interesting and using my still rather small big board.

60 - La'Raven Clark - OT
61 - Kenny Clark - DT
91 - traded - 4th and 5th
96 - Will Redmon CB
4th - Tyler Matakevich - ILB
-trade up 5th and 6th for another 4th.
4th- Tyler Higbee - TE

and i will stop here.

pretty good but I don't think you'll see a DB taken by the pats that early.....they already have darryl roberts coming back....see other needs needing to be addressed
