I sure hope you aren't talking about Osweiler...dude's worse than Hoyer. Just watch.
I don't know. Osweiler is nothing special but Hoyer looked pretty poor last year.

turnstile in the pro's and in college(from what I understand).

Miller the majority of the time rushes from the left and outside of the AFCC I don't recall Miller being really a factor in any of the Pats/broncos games.

Scores in past games

2011- 41-22 & 45-10
2012- 31-21 (31-14 with 5 minutes to go in the game)
2013- 34-31 (made a play in the 1st half. Was completely invisible the 2nd half)
2014- 43-21

All Pats victories

2015 there was no Solder and the 2013 AFCC Miller was injured

At least he put up a decent TD-INT ratio (until his total implosion in the playoffs). I feel like I never saw Osweiler make any plays or really move the offense either, just hand off to Anderson or a short pass to Sanders/Thomas that gets 20 yards after the catch. Hoyer had the look of a hit or miss/streaky QB, whereas Osweiler was just...uninspiring to watch. I feel like they actually downgraded at the position.

Hoyer had 6 games with a better than 90 QB rating.
He had 4 games with a rating in the 70s.
He had 1 game with a rating below that (51.9).

That's not great, but it's not glue factory material by any stretch of the imagination.

His real crime was that he choked in his first ever playoff game, against a Chiefs team that was able to pressure him all game long.

Good info, Deus. Seems like my memory of that playoff game is coloring my opinion. You could do a lot worse than those passer ratings.

Woahhh there. Not even a huge Osweiler fan, but absolutely not.

If we're taking flyers on veteran recievers I'd rather give the chance to Boldin over Johnson.

Big, tough, experienced reciever. Not fast, but strong and durable.

Sad thing is they've both obviously priced themselves out of Patriot land, and that's fine by me.

Yeah I'll take hogan, Washington and hopefully a draftee and be more than happy

Agree. I'm a little more concerned with the RB situation than the WR state. I like what we got, for what we got them for (excluding Nate... don't know what that contract looks like, yet)

I think Johnson is more a case of teams realizing there's no gas left in the tank rather than his contractual demands.

You may be right, but that guy puts in a ton of work. I'd like to think it was the Colts system.

Maybe it was just the Colts system, but I don't think he's what the Pats are looking for now. Certainly seemed his time was up last year. Having said that, theyll probably sign him tomorrow and make me look bad. :)

Ah, you're probably right. I've just always had an AJ in a Pats uniform infatuation going on. I may be a year or two beyond though.

How did they get better?

They lost Heath Miller and replaced him with the subpar Ladarius Green, lost the good but injury prone Beachum for the average Ryan Harris and lost two of their starting CBs in Blake and Boykin and starting SS in Allen.

Now add in the Bryant loss and I don't see an improvement at all.

They get Le'veon Bell back.

Sorry Manx, I respect you and all your knowledge, but it doesn't matter who is running the ball in Pittsburgh.

Williams looked just like bell last year in his stead.

AB does wonders for a running game.

Not to mention the loss of Heath WILL take away from that running game.

Fair point. Williams was good but he wasn't Bell good. Still think the Steelers are our biggest rival next year. And I'm still amazed at what the Jets and Broncos are(n't) doing at QB.
