Has anyone else ever wondered what BB's hall of fame speech will be like?

Probably something like this: " ... (snort) ... (snort) ... (clears throat) ... It was what it was ... (snort) ... (cough) ... Thank you."

I disagree. BB's shown that he can cut back on the "... (snort) ... (snort) ... (clears throat) ... It was what it was ... (snort) ... (cough) ... Thank you." when needed like when he was trying to explain the science of deflate-gate. Not a single snort, cough or 'ahem' - just all business.

However, I've a feeling his hof speech will be very emotional as he will no longer have the stress of running a team and will be more forthcoming about his true nature.

If there is one thing we know bout BB it's that he is a student of the game and LOVES the history of the NFL. He understands his place and is aware of his legacy. Getting into the hall is the greatest honor there is in football and there is no way in hell he blows it off with a usual press conference "f u media" speech. He will thank all the great players he got to coach, mentioning his favorites maybe with a cool story or two. He will thank the Kraft family for the opportunity to coach his way for 23 years. Then he will thank his family who without their love and support he never would have made it this far. He will find some interesting historical tidbit and wax poetically about it and how it has affected his career. Think of how long he goes on when the media do not ask the stupid game day questions they know he won't answer, when they ask big picture questions he can comfortably sink his teeth into. THAT's the BB we will see when he accepts his gold jacket 5 years after he retires.

Plenty of My Cousin Vinny references?

If he's honest, he will thank Tom Brady every other sentence, if not more.

What you're missing in that is what he'll say about the people who educated him along the way, or from whom he cribbed ideas. I.e., it'll be in large part a rehash of Education of a Coach.

Think it will be memorable, laced with many memories of Steve Sr., his journey starting with Marchibroda and his culmination with the New England Patriots.. he will make some guarded commentary about the NFL and its silly rules.. like meeting with the press weekly in the correctly branded garb.

Imagine how much more he has to say in comparison to someone who played 9-10 years. The volume of his career is overwhelming.

I agree that the press conference BB won't be seen, other than perhaps to make light of it. BB is the greatest. I will miss following a BB lead team and can only hope his successor is 1/4 as good.

It'll be somewhere between Hightowers and Mahoney's at the end of "Police Academy"

SOB you beat me too it.

Seriously though from someone who has heard him speak at a private event I can assure when his guard is down he can be quite the speaker. His speech will probably be awesome but what might be even better is if he is asked to introduce anyone like Brady.

It will be a very respectful speech. Very humble.

It's not his speech I'm looking forward to but the book afterwards, wherein he disgorges the contents of his Doomsday Dossier.

Well, he won't. But I can dream.

I wonder who he'd have introduce him? Who has enough status to do such a thing? I guess he could ask Brady. Do coaches have players introduce them? Or owners? The only truly fitting person would be for Paul Brown to come back from the grave.

A Bill Belichick wet dream  ... interesting.

we're on to retirement.

Surely it'll be Kraft. Definitely wouldn't be Parcells!

Kraft will be 90 by then. It won't be him. Even if he's still alive and kicking, he won't have all his marbles. He already lost some of them by acquiescing to the league on the lost draft picks.
