So we got a 2nd in 2016 instead of a 3rd in 2017, $2m in cap space, and a year of Chris Long instead of a year of Chandler Jones.

You probably made a typo, but we got a 2nd in 2016 (i.e. this coming draft) instead of a 3rd in 2018.

I'd love to see Vollmer extended for a few years, particularly if the price is right. Dump Cannon and use the money we're throwing away on him to pay for it. If Spriggs falls out of 1st round, use the extra picks to move up. Draft another tackle with a comp pick and groom them both for a year. With the exception of Mankins during his rookie year and Brian Waters that year he was here, Vollmer has been our best O-Line player since being drafted.

Hes 31 now with a $6m cap number. I'd like to see him around for another couple of years but the team needs to get his $ down.

The thing is, the patriots are littered with examples of players who whether it be scheme etc. had failed to meet expectations on their team and then once on the patriots flourished when BB puts them in the best possible situation to succeed.

Look at guys like ayers, casillas, hicks....even jaball sheard underachieved on the browns due to scheme and excelled here.

So with that track record and having the best OL coach in the game I think you have to give the pats the benefit of the doubt that they can turn this kid around. And if they do, watch out league.

Can a mod either ban this troll or remove him from this thread
Why? Are you biased and think he can hold his own? I don't. Tell me do teams depart with good linemen In a trade ? Not y very often... Because when you have great lineman you usually keep them. You think he can block a guy like suh?

why not? last year's OL kept him off of Brady

you just sound like an idiot

So...........
So.... Any defensive lineman who actually wants to play (ahem... Suh.. He purposely tanked to get off that team look it up) will destroy Cooper. Go look at tape he's a bum and a major bust. And no one not even this great scar will salvage him

Who cares? Lets say he busts so hard that he gets cut before the season. What did we loose. Does anyone think jones for one year is worth a 1st? I certainly don't. Hell I think the 2nd was generous and we also get a 1st round player that could MAYBE amount to something?

As I said before, he was a throw in.....anything we get out of him is a bonus
