They flim-flammed 'em. LOL.

There may have been an "understanding" based on Bostic's performance Who knows.

I think Chicago had three 6th round picks - so an easy give back to sweeten the deal

it's all bad...sky falling...move is real bad...we LOST the fourth round!!! Belechick is losing it. I , Knower-Of-Things-ker would never have done this deal when we could easily have signed all the top free agents in the NFL..and STILL signed Matt Forte!

All of you should stop listening to these people who think BB is any good at making a roster. We, the phucking scumbag army of chicken little know-it-all azzoles are the only ones who KNOW what we are doing and the rest of you are unobjective Pats fans that just blindly follow along as the Patriot go downhill fast!!! It's all bad...why can't YOU see that??????????

Next part of the puzzle..

Amendola & 6th

Gordon & 4th

Mwahahahahaha

Sorry Danny about sending you to the Browns.

Earlier today he was just OK

But now he's the 2nd best TE in the NFL

That many, huh? Well we had 5 so maybe BB wanted to win the "who had the most 6th round picks contest" going away.

If it's guaranteed- YES. Hes either out of a job or getting paid by NE $2-$2.5m in guarantees with a chance to make maybe $4m in 2016. Maybe they make it a 2yr deal $8m w/ $4m in guarantees so they can spread out the cap hit. Lots of ways to get creative and show the player good will and try to be fair.

The big spenders are gone. The market has settled. This is the time teams get value and players need to work.
Nope, not gonna happen.

Sorry Danny about sending you to the Browns.

Redoing the DA and Cannon deals should - in theory clear up another $4-$5m.

Or trade away completely and replace with a really cheap rookie deal :)

Wheeling and dealing continues: Bears are trading TE Martellus Bennett to Patriots for draft-pick compensation, league sources tell ESPN.

"The Patriots will acquire tight end Martellus Bennett in a trade with the Chicago Bears, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday night. The Patriots will give up a fourth-round draft pick and receive Bennett and a sixth-round selection, CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran reported."

"Bennett has one year left on his contract. He’s due $5.085 million in 2016."

nah, don't close the book completely on Bostic yet.

Well see what happens in camp. I expected more out of him in 2015. The ILB position here is not easy.

And for the first time since early 2012, Brady has a lethal TE combo to work with. Love the trade. Bring in a WR to hit the intermediate to deep routes and add a piece or two more to the OL and this offense is deadly.

Still gotta get the RB1.

Let's play which TE is getting the ball. NOPE! that was the WR. You lose! :D

Till he croaks? Could be a long while. The man was born to coach.
He just loves football. He doesn't have to personally attend all these pro days but there he is at a ton of them. When he's physically worn down he'll retire; the game doesn't seem to wear him down mentally.

Players always take guaranteed deals over game checks. Always.

He goes on IR in camp hes filing an injury settlement for pennies on the dollar.
For the same length of years and 1/2 the money? Please point me to an example of that. It doesn't happen, ever. They might have a chance of reducing his cap hit of they offer something longer term with some guaranteed money equaling at least the 5m he will make this year as long as he stays healthy and on the roster. Maybe 3yrs, $11m $6m guaranteed? He probably wouldn't even do that. But no way he does what you're suggesting.

Props to @Ivan for calling this one. Good to see another weapon added.
