Chandler Jones Traded

Jones will have a great year. He's got a massive payday coming to him if he does

That's the thing I really like about player looking for a payday. They go all out and play hard.

First you came out and accused me of false statements.
Then you said he was never doubled.
Then you challenged me to prove it.
Then after I proved it, you changed the subject.

Are you always like this?

I mean, should I even bother responding if this is how it's going to go?

You shown one play out of 500+ snaps and now you want a fricken cookie?

Listen buddy, I get from your username your from upstate, he's a local kid that probably went to your fav college. I get the butt hurt, really I do..but he wasn't THAT guy. If he was he'd still be here.

Seems like a good trade, but I thought Chandler was a good Patriot and it's unfortunate to see him go.

A cold comfort, but it's nice that he's going to a good team. I hated when they sent Big Sey to crappy Oakland as some kind of perverse "thank you" for him being such a good Patriot's contributor.

With Chandler gone, who is going to guest star in Julian Edelman YouTube videos now?

I really hope Dominique Easley can make it into the playoffs next season. If he's healthy and improving it will lessen the impact of losing Jones by quite a bit.

Easley didn't make it to halftime of the opener, he has been hurt since his junior year in college. Ras-IR thinks he is made of glass.

So you're comfortable judging him on one year of play in the NFL?

Two years. He broke his leg in 2013. He played in 2014 and 2015 for a good coaching staff and didn't perform. I'm not convinced he can pass block against big DTs. Let's hope I'm wrong.

The Browns would've never traded us Gordon and their 2nd rounder for Jones.

I think we probably have different views on how well the Browns are run....

So we have a large enough sample size between Vereen and Jones to say that starting in a video with Edelman means your days with the team are numbered.

You asked him to show you a double team and quick Google Search gave him an example should he go through the all 22s and post every instance? I think he made his point.

You quoted Loyko on saying they had talks with the Browns among others. So why don't you look up a bit and see another Loyko tweet where he says that he knows that some of the teams refused to give up a second rounder?

Lets see what bb can do with him. He was an elite prospect who hasnt panned out. Doesnt mean he will and doesnt mean he will not. The pats get rid of the ball alot faster when our offensive is healthy. Maybe he will be better served blocking it short spurts than he was in az. Az has a great offensive but plays take alot longer to develope in their offense.

To me, the fear is that you ed up with ONLY a compensatory 3rd round pick when he leaves. But in the interim, you get a year out of him.

And an 8m dollar cap hit at a position that would've demanded 20m dollars in 2016 for defensive ends, with 2 players in the waiting who were taken in the top 100 picks last year.

That's not even bringing up the loss of our first rounder this spring, so having some flexibility helps a lot more in 2016 than the possibility (wasn't quite written in stone just yet with Jones' poor decisions and potential for injury) of a 2018 third round pick.

This is a copycat league the Pat's Achilles heel has always been a team that can get to Brady without blitzing. They just sent an All-Pro DE to a team with a great secondary.

The 60th pick in the draft isn't close to Jones' value. Maybe BB can recreate the magic he got at pick 64 last year (Bust Richards for those of you who can't remember ). They could have kept him for another year and still gotten pick number 96. Or franchised him and then worked out a trade.

This is an awful deal, the Pat's used two draft picks last year on guards and now they get another one who lost his job.

I feel like you wrote this with the intention of making a point but you left out some words. Nobody knows who those teams were or what they were really willing to offer, but either way this is a really compelling debate thanks for opening my eyes.

SMH. The only one who seems to be butt hurt here is you. You were the one who claimed:
Jones was never doubled.

All it takes is 1 example to prove you wrong. And that was done. Since then, all you've done is be like a troll and attempt to spin your way out of it. It's beneath you.

And you're wrong about why Jones is gone. He's gone because he was going to take a ridiculous amount of money to re-sign. Well out of the range that the Patriots were going to be willing to pay. Especially when Jones wasn't in the top 3 players on defense needing a contract. Those 3 would be Hightower, Collins and Butler. And if you don't think that BB would trade away a player like that, then you clearly haven't been following this team long..

So I said never, he said constant double teams, he's shown one clip, and he made his point?

SBB you go to all the home games, and watch every game. Do you notice Jones getting all this special attention?

If Jones was constant doubled team and still produced 12.5 sacks, he'd been worth every penny.

Sorry, but Chandler Jones is not ALL-PRO. He's just not. He's very good, but not "ALL-PRO".

The 60th pick in the draft is absolutely close to the value of 1 year of Chandler Jones. Easy to guess that the team wasn't going to get him signed to a new contract.

But taking a comprehensive view is for suckers.

Wouldn't the Cardinals get the comp pick instead?

If he leaves as a FA, yeah. That's why I included it on the "what we're giving up" side of the equation.
