Chandler Jones Traded

And you're spinning starts. You claimed he was NEVER double-teamed. Upstarter gives you proof that your claim was BS and now you change your claim. Typical..

One play.

You know what DL gets constant double teams? The JJ Watts of the world. Chandler is not that. You thought he was, but he wasn't.

If he was getting constant doubled team, and 12.5 sacks. We'd never let him go.

It will be disorienting seeing Jones in a cardinal uniform when they play the Pats next season

He disappeared all by himself. Let's hope the Dante and the change of scenery can make him into a good OL. :)
So you're comfortable judging him on one year of play in the NFL?

He wasn't always double teamed. But he had a very noticeable highlight sack last year against the dolphins where he split a double team. So people saying he wasn't double teamed are straight up wrong.

Chandler Jones beats a double team for a major sack.

Never said Chandler was always double teamed. He wasn't. But it happened a lot more than NEVER or just 1 time like AzorianPatsfan would have us believe..

There's a difference between average players and JJ Watt. There's a big difference between very good players and JJ Watt too. Chandler Jones is very good at times, but has a tendency to just be good for stretches. But that doesn't make him bad as some makes him out to be.

Hopefully Long is signed at some point.

He doesn't suck. I actually thinks he'll be more productive in AZ then here. Won't have to worry so much about chipping TE's.

But he's not on the level of elite edge guys like Miller, Mack, Houston.

Scar was the OL coach in 13 when Cooper was coming out and the Pats reportedly had a very high grade on him. From my quick look, he is extremely athletic but lacks the physicality and meanness of a Mankins. I expect he will compete for a starting position because we simply are not that strong up front, but despite his lofty selection, he is no Mankins or Hannah.

With the exception of Conrad Dobler there wasn't a meaner, nastier OG in NFL history than Hog.

Yes, the Patriots have until May 3rd to pick up Cooper's option. Or they can negotiate a long term deal with him..

They should consider extending him 2-3 years, and make the pay up there as a starter but do it with Roster Bonuses each year rather than a signing bonus.. keep him hungry and focused to get top tier play out of him, but protect the team by only having to pay him in yearly chunks... his agent would probably do this too since it would just mean he potentially hits free agency faster when he's still at an age where he can get another potentially big contract

Very interesting trade... if Dante can get his hands on this guy to steer him in the right direction, coach him up and properly motivate him.. it could be an amazing trade based on his pedigree/potential... Mine as well secure your investment/experiment with a 2 year or so extension. If he plays really well and becomes a free agent, then we're in the same position we were in with Chandler lol

I like the trade though and it also tells me that BB must be satisfied with where Flowers, Grissom and Johnson are at in their development and what he perceives to be their ceiling

A win win for both teams.

Cards get a young player with talent, Pats get some value back before he walks away next year. Excited to see what Cooper can do with Scar's coaching. And if he can stay healthy. The big deal in this though was the second rounder. Cooper is just a bonus.

So long Chandler.

One sack ( and that was a good play) but he wasn't getting that attention every game.

First you came out and accused me of false statements.
Then you said he was never doubled.
Then you challenged me to prove it.
Then after I proved it, you changed the subject.

Are you always like this?

I mean, should I even bother responding if this is how it's going to go?

I don't know. I seem to remember the Pats trying out the 3-4 a couple of times and in that scheme, Jones was horrible.

Oh man, if we could have traded for Gordon and Cleveland's 2nd rounder....
